I never saw direct combat. But that does not mean I wasn't ready to do so. You go where they tell you to go. I was never given any option. Keith, we are deploying you to support Dessert Storm in Diego Garcia. Me, ok.
I doubt she was going to vote for Harris anyways. Seems like typical MAGA. MAGA won't attract anyone who's not MAGA already. All MAGA has is their cult. And it won't be enough in November
The nihilists don't consider serving in Congress to actually be serving. And it's temping to have that viewpoint when congressmen engage in insider trading and become lobbyists once they leave office. The nihilists are so cynical that they don't think anyone can enter government with good intentions. They don't know what to do with somebody like Tim Walz who was elected to Congress from a humble background and didn't enrich himself as a result.
Dude, come on now. Diego Garcia is a rock. A rock in the middle of a vast nothing of ocean. When I was stationed in Sicily (oh, Lord, how I loved that place), anyone I met who'd previously been stationed in Diego Garcia had nothing good to say about it. Lots of pretty water but by no means a vacation. I think deployments there are a year only, otherwise you'd go batshit stir crazy.
24 years of military service and we have folks essentially accusing walz of dodging a war as they championed around a bona-fide draft dodger. Wild.
Yeah, people can be as*holes about judging people for getting out of the military when their enlistment ends. Like you said, it's a personal choice, but that doesn't make their time served less meaningful. My brother served on a ship, and they went on two different Western Pacific cruises for 6 months at a time, as well as constant shorter missions. Every time they were out at sea he worked 6 hours on, 6 hours off. Shipboard drills, chow time, showering, writing letters, etc.. were all done during his 6 hours off. It's tough, and not everyone wants to work like that anymore after 5 years of school, time on the ship, and time away from family. That was back before Internet and cell phones, which made it much more lonely. Anyway, when he decided not to reenlist it was right before Desert Storm. His Commanding Officer was an as*hole. He made some comment to him about how some people might call him a traitor or some **** because he wasn't going to reenlist before Desert Storm, instead of thank you for your service son. So yeah, there are plenty of as*holes in the military too, and Vance sounds like the same type condescending pr*ck. I don't think Waltz is that kind of guy.
I am saying - Judge not, lest ye be judged" and this whole bullshit stolen valor argument is moot. Just more pigs wallowing around tossing out mud..... DD
Walz earned retirement. He served 24 years and qualified for retirement. He did choose retirement but then went on to help with the armed services committee and serve is community in congress as governor. I don't have a problem with any of that.
Yeah, like I said we were told to not go swimming because of the poisonous sea crates. We spent most of our down time just chilling and talking. no place to take a family on vacation. There are some mangroves but thats where the brown tree snakes are. As you can tell I do not like snakes. I always tell my wife she is more than welcome to go to Australia without me to see the Australian open but will not be attending. All animals there want to kill you, except the koalas, and they may be sci ops for other animals that do want to kill you.
I did not mention stolen valor anywhere in my statements. you are so wanting others to argue with you that you just make stuff up on the fly. BTW. where you in the Navy? curious because your Avitar seems a bit like stolen valor there, keyboard warrior.
Ah Australia, the land where kangaroos can box you like Mike Tyson and spiders can swallow your pet cat whole
