If Jalen could just get back to averaging 22-23 ppg like he was in year 2, then he could get back on par scoring with at least half of these guys. I would mostly compare him to Rockets legend Tracy MackGrady.
yes, if he can avg 22-23 ppg on 38% from the field, 30% from 3, and a true shooting% of 50%, he will clearly be in the realm of some of the top sgs in nba history
Points per game is not a good goal for Jalen to achieve. It is his shooting percentages that are the issue. Scoring 22-23 points per game with inefficient low shooting percentages is not good and that is exactly what he did two years ago under the idiot Silas when he had a green light to take any and all shots he wanted no matter how bad he was shooting. If Jalen gets his shooting percentages up then his points per game will go up naturally.
He had his most efficient season of his career under that “idiot silas”. Better than he did under ime
Damn, the Jaters are ultra sensitive right now. I think we REALLY got to them. "We can't keep them all!" is the fake narrative of the day to explain trading Green. Who cares? If we're keeping 2, Green is going to be one of them. Sengun the other. Can we keep 4 of them? Then that leaves 2 spots for Amen, Cam, Reed, Tari and Jabari. That's what scares the **** out of them. No matter how you cut it, we're going to lose 2-3 great players. They're insecure about their favorites which is understandable. Also in general the "we can't keep all of them" is so exaggerated. All contenders have 5-7 players on non-minimum salaries. We're not going to max everyone. The players who clearly become role players are going to get role player salaries. You can afford two max contracts and 3-4 role players pretty easily. You can max Sengun and Green then if another max player emerges, you can trade one max player for expiring contracts and picks (since the new max player's salary will take a year to kick in). The mental gymnastics are so crazy this summer, they should be in Paris.
You mean just scoring efficiency. On assist/TO he had his best season. On finishing at the rim he had his best season. On FT% he had his best season. Defensively there's not a person on this board who would argue his 3rd season was by far his best defensive season (including defensive rebounding). That's half the efficiency you're leaving out just there.
The hate is so strong they literally hear words that were never said now. And they try and call us the delusional ones? They're full blown hallucinating to fulfil their confirmation bias.
That guy thinks John Stockton's a top 10 player and better than Olajuwon, I wouldn't take him too seriously in all honesty.
I think he's younger than he lets on, he will eventually get it. Doesn't strike me as a troll. I remember being that guy who worshipped the advanced stats without questioning the weaknesses in them. Some crow tends to fix stuff like that. He's going to have to answer for why Green takes an unprecedented step up next season when the numbers say it's sooooooooooooooooooo unlikely. That will be a good lesson. Stockton better than Hakeem is funny. I don't even know what to say to that.
Like you say, it's a common problem with people who live and die by "advanced metrics" (also known as random estimates, not statistics.) They're only good for your confirmation bias arguments until you point out how ridiculously flawed they are for player evaluation. These guys really should read moneyball and actually learn what "metrics" are used for (ie, maximising LESSER talent and trying to get past not having the resources to sign the top tiered people by using game trends to find niche players who perform well in niche situations - not overall talent evaluation) and stop thinking that metric darlings like Harden are better players than the guys with several rings who look much worse by those same benchmarks...
Obviously he’s just trolling about the stockton thing, i never brought him up once but it would be great if i was wrong about jalen. I loved him as a prospect, was thrilled we drafted him. Even going into last season he was my top rated prospect for the rockets so if i original thoughts turn out to be correct, that’s awesome.
I didn't actually, I just pointed out that your "metrics" are garbage for the use you were trying to use them for. That's the problem, you're not intelligent enough to even understand what you're reading.
Efficiency doesn’t just mean 3p%. His 2pt% better than Booker, Lillard, Kyrie in their first 3 years. It is right around Edwards % in his first 3 years. These people keep focusing on 3 pt% as the end all be all because he has beeb more efficient at 2 pointers compared to the stars of this league within their first 3 years.
The fact that you are taking my comments seriously is funny. I was even agreeing with you in your first post when I said Thansis has highlights... I can see his point though. Certain highlights mean more. Like game winners etcZ
Did you know that year 2 was his most inefficient - Career low FG%, Career low FT%, Career low eFG% and most shots per game. Jalen Green Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Draft Status and more | Basketball-Reference.com I'll pass on a repeat of year 2.
It's simple. Jalen is still the weak link. We're not paying him. Even so, he still has speculative value..a lot to the right team. With draft picks....he's gone for the right target. Probably Booker, as PHX won't stay healthy, and don't play well together.
