Ah yes, because players never improve at all in their careers. Makes PERFECT sense. And yet, you still haven't shown me a player who's won without highlights. It's almost like highlight plays (which are only highlights because of how good they are) in fact do contribute to winning championships, how insane.
Or never, hard to say for certain.... unfortunately, the decision has to be made before he's 23 because his rookie contract is running out and all we have to go on this far is 3 of the worst overall seasons by a top 10 drafted Rockets player in franchise history. He'll need to come out of the gate strong this upcoming season if he wants to stick around and have ANY chance of the Rockets offering him a new deal.
If he was showing signs of significant improvement, there would be no question when it comes to extending your guy. His relative lack of improvement after 3 years is the primary problem.
Is what he said totally outlandish? The team can't keep all these young guys. Jalen hasn't earned the max extension he's wanting and giving it to him would be a massive overpay based upon the current data. The asking price was 2 future lottery picks from teams currently tanking .... sounds more than fair to me.
So tell me, do you think highlight plays are bad plays? I'm still waiting on somebody showing me a champion without any.
Bill Russell. I haven't seen any videos of him. of course it's impossible because even the worst players have highlight videos. There isn't a single player in the nba you can't make a highlight video of.
Ok, so why is that the best player on every team is usually the one with the most highlights if they're meaningless? Everybody has highlights, the best players have a LOT more. Feel free to go check which of our players that is.
When did he say that? Only things I saw from him was he said a year or two ago that the narrative has been unfair to Trae. He has also recently praised Luka during the playoffs this past year.
I don’t listen to him, just saw that months ago here's what he said i found it: Your name is being thrown around in trade talks... Have not heard anyone ever say Luka should be traded... But you've done some of the same things. How does that make you feel when you think about it? You two are always compared because of the Draft Day trade... And the reality is, when you take a step back, you're very close in points, I think you probably lead in assists, but the narrative out there isn't the same." pretty clearly he's implying that trae and luka are on the same level, obviously
Yeah it's pretty outlandish to trade Green for two picks that will be delivered 4-5 years after they started their rebuild. They will be at least a .500 team by that point and those picks will be jokes. If we're talking two unprotected picks from an aging team in a small market, then it's good for us but no one is going to trade that for an unproven Green. More important point: for a team acquiring Green there's no difference between him being unproven for 3.5 years rather than 3 years - we'll get roughly the same thing anyway. Whereas for us it's the difference between finding a Max player or a dud. Stupid for us to not take those 0.5 years for ourselves especially since we have 0 Max players at present.
He never said Trae was better. He also never said they were equal. He just said “some of the same things” and “close in points”. He was focusing more on the two different narratives and perceptions of the players considering how both have been very good players. Trae is still a tremendous talent and much like Doncic he has been on a teams with less talent.
