All team have players that miss games. Which creates minutes for players to see if they can step up. Depth with the new NBA salary cap is huge.

Exactly this. People act like SGA was a known superstar going into his 4th year. If there's nothing else, basketball pundits and fans love revisionist history. "Well OF COURSE he became an All Star we should have all seen it".

The superstar is on the roster. We won't be trading for him.

I still would have traded Sampson for Drexler and Jordan.

With hindsight sure, but at the time probably not. Sampson was the LeBron James of his day.

Nah, he was the Wemby or Chet. You could also tell he wasn't built for the long haul. (Well, I could. I guess the Rockets couldn't.) The only question is with Drexler coming in, would you have selected Jordan or perhaps Perkins or Barkley instead?

Sam Bowie was a great prospect, too. There was a reason Portland took him. Hindsight is wonderful but at the time the pick made sense.
Comparing Wemby to Ralph means one thinks very highly of Wemby.
My memory of RS was the better of the twin towers till his injury and Akeem was always GREAT. Akeem truly earned his nickname the Dream. Ralph was bigger and played the forward because he was a more rounded polished player. Most games Ralph would do something that was never seen before, from someone of his size he was so uniquely talented. The addition of Akeem made where it was hard to double, triple team because the Ralph or Akeem would make them pay. Both were already a mismatch, but with the addition of the other, teams had no answer. Ralph and Akeem together were unbeatable. They where the twin towers.

Wasn't Bowie's name featured in the AIR movie.

The way they talked drafting and signing shoe deals, he wasn't all that.

They need two courts to accommodate Alpi's talent!

(Am I doing it right, Senguniacs?)
