"As bad as" depends on what you're measuring. If you're counting human lives and property damage, sure. If you're counting risk to the future of the country, one is astronomically more dangerous than the other.
Again... showing that you are not unbiased. You selectively leave out the whole like.... uhhh un-doing of Democracy bit. The goal, which was almost achieved, was to delay the certification, and force a "contested" election to be in play which would have then opened up the ability for the House of Representatives to force a vote under the 12th amendment which would have given Republicans the ability to certify Donald Trump as the winner of the election. So yeah... January 6th was pretty f-ing important, and would have been more consequential to our lives, and our nations history for sure. You'll poo poo that all you want, but the facts are the facts. They almost were successful in getting an un-elected autocrat put back in power by violent and corrupt means. Don't believe me, just look at the Jack Smith indictment. He seems to agree with me as well that these actions were impactful enough to indict a former president.
Most progressives aren't labeling any disagreement as extremism and "misinformation". They are labeling extremism and misinformation as what it is. @Scarface281 is posting information and actually discussing it. People here have countered and disagree with it. But it isn't the simplistic dishonest horse crap that you are posting. The tweets labeling Walz as a marxist and eager to align himself and our government with Hamas is dishonest and disinformation. The frenzied effort to try and get those dishonest labels out there absolutely reeks of desperation. What I haven't seen is an effort to silence those dishonest posts. I haven't seen people claiming they and/or you shouldn't be allowed to post the crap. They merely label it as crap. This literally describes everything you are posting. It nails it. It also shows the actual truth of what Walz has said and has done. I'll repost it for your convenience. You're welcome.
unlike the minneapolis riots, this one was incited by a politician (donald trump) who has promised to pardon them if he wins the election.
i dont think he does. he has said multiple times that he just posts stuff because he thinks he is triggering others. he basically admits that he is nothing more than a troll. you cant take anything he says seriously. when he made fun of paul pelosi and accused him of being gay after he was almost killed in his own home i realized that he is not only a troll, but also a genuinely bad person.
Overturning the results of an election through violence to install someone as the President would have ended the American experiment IMO. You can't just go back to business as usual after the government is effectively decapitated and/or rendered illegitimate. I don't want to **** around and find out just who exactly is willing to kill their fellow citizens for control of the country.
that’s most likely the case…I only brought it up because I was seeing it in right wing circles that this Kamabla nickname was some 4D chess
My favorite twitter meme is responding to dumbasses with a picture of a pig sh1tting on its own balls. Think I'll do that here. Spoiler
What is this? (Getting excited about blocking x-bot tweets here in the D&D but sounds like maybe you aren't talking about that)
Defense and offense evolve. Defense will improve as you said above. Offense too, but folks seem to excuse it away, downplay it, or believe defense will always hold. The offense has already evolved and the rules have already changed to tilt more favorably to the offense. It won't be a Jan 6 repeat. It will be something else.
didnt 3 of trumps own supporters die on january 6th? and didnt 3 cops die in the days afterwards? and werent dozens of cops injured? 140 of them were assaulted? there is no question that jan 6th was more destructive to our democracy. we got lucky that day that trump and his supporters failed, but there has been very little done to ensure that nothing like that happens again. and i must point out how utterly f***ed up it is that not only is trump not in jail because of january 6th, but he is running for president again. did walz incite the riots and did he promise to pardon those involved? trump incited january 6th and has promised to pardon them. trump supporters in here are saying that they are "hostages" being held in gulags. i dont see anyone calling those arrested for minneapolis riots "hostages". i dont see any democrat politicians saying they are being treated unfair and should be pardoned.
