7 runs? That's like a week's worth for this team.

When we made the turn from getting better to champions almost a decade ago

Going from K/HR guys to put bat on ball guys was a big part of the equation

    Hope Dezenzo does well

Speaking of Loperfido, haven’t seen many updates on him around here lately after his one decent game with Toronto where everyone lost their mind. After tonight’s 0-4 2K performance, he’s a whopping 4-22 with 11 Ks.

I missed today's game, unfortunately, because I wanted to see his plate approach. Too many of our bats either appear to have no plan at the plate, or exhibit zero ability to execute that plan. Just swing wildly at anything near the plate, regardless of location or pitch type.

For those that did watch, did he at least appear to have a plan at the plate? Was he zeroing in on certain pitches and/ or zones? Thanks in advance!

Guys with very poor plate approach. Swinging at anything near the plate. These guys don't appear to be zoning in for certain pitches and locations. Loperfido, to me, fits in that box. We need contact, bat to ball, guys right now. There's a time and place for "swing from the heels" type players (Joey, Jon, Trey, Chaz, Pena, etc), but right now - with this lineup - is not that time.

This lineup, this year, needs bat to ball contact, pitch discerning hitters to lengthen the lineup and stress pitchers.

Feels like desperation at this point. Offseason and trade deadline were pretty much failures, and it looks like we may have traded the ones we should've kept and kept the ones we should've traded.

    Based on what?

I figured there would be a ton of whining around here if he didn't go 4-4 in his MLB debut, fans are what they are.

Did you not see my comment with the stats Loperfido has posted since going to Toronto? He’s been ass.

He looked good today. Looked more confident and had some good contact, also liked how he ran the bases and battled to get his walk. Good signs from my nascent baseball knowledge.
