See - I don't think Americans want a return to 2016, I think that was the case 3-4 years ago but not now. I think that America is ready for change, they are sick of the same old group of people ruling and making decisions. That doesn't really help either candidate - as Harris was VP of Biden and Trump is part of the political past...... Trump will play up he is antiestablishment, and Harris will play up her energy, the fact she has never been the President and she will try to distance herself from Biden. Right now Harris doesn't have to do much other than slap people into remembering that a lot of the stuff surrounding Trump and his attacks is childish. At this point Trump needs to break through to where Harris has to be on the defensive. He is trying to do that by painting Walz as an extremist. I am not sure that is going to work. He tried playing up that Harris is stupid or unqualified or that her ethnicity is an issue - and it did not register like it would have 4-8 years ago because times change. There are conservatives that have figured out that attacking her on her record is their best bet - and it may work. However, the flip side of the coin is that there is plenty to attack Trump on when it comes to his record as well. It is going to be a dog fight, and a lot of it is going to come down to how Harris handles herself when dealing with attacks and ebbs and flows she was personally insulated from as a VP. 4-5 years ago she had a strong showing, and then faded, as she could not overcome the attack that she was a panderer and inauthentic. Now the attacks will be stronger - but she will also have more experience, more help from her party and more comfort being in the public eye. Simply labeling her a w****, stupid, not black or a DEI candidate isn't going to work in 2024 - but they can attack her on some of her prior positions.
I officially got tired with the culture war garbage when republicans were screaming that there’s a war on Christmas back in like 2018…it was regarding some dumb sh*t where some people were saying “happy holidays” instead of “merry Christmas” or something stupid like that and I’m sitting there listening like “Who actually cares about this sh*t?
