Let me give you guys a spoiler alert: -Basso, ATW, Tinman, Os Trig, and BobbytheGreat will all HATE the VP pick, and will spam the DD with tweet after tweet telling us how awful this VP is.
Bobby has been away from the D&D for a while. I think Clutch and him negotiated that he won't be banned as long as he avoids the D&D.
He's like the 1 person I had to block so I guess I'm out of the loop on his nonsense. Him and Hollic/Jopat. Either way we know the usual suspects who spam the forum. I can't wait to hear about every detail imaginable that can be turned into a manufactured scandal/conspiracy theory you can find off Twitter about a guy that none of these guy knew existed 3 weeks ago.
Saw some of his questions when he was just a young man attending college. He already had it then. His framing is top-notch. I haven't seen anyone do it better.
It looks like you provided a link that has snapshots of his writing. I formed my opinion after reading the original writing, which I believe is the best approach for everyone. At this point, I haven't read any other articles about it and don't feel compelled to do so. I've an opinion but will state it later.
What? The article directly quotes him when he referred to Palestinians incapable of building a society. These are things he said. You are the only one disputing it.
Here I mean the articles in the press and the people they quote who allege that Shapiro is being singled out antisemitically because he's Jewish. I'm singling him out, so I'll take the implication that they accuse me of antisemitism (which is some bs). Adam Schiff is one, according to this article: Anti-Israel antisemitic campaign rallies against Josh Shapiro - The Jerusalem Post (jpost.com) I found the reference again in this article: Josh Shapiro Slams Protests on College Campuses, Urges Order (mediaite.com). I'm not endorsing the website, which looks like a progressive rag, but they have the most extensive quotes. He's not saying the keffiyeh is like a white hood. He's saying we are using some kind of double-standard, tolerating the speech of these college protesters when we would not have tolerated their speech if they were KKK. Drawing that false equivalency, he's saying essentially that the message of college protesters is hate speech similar to white supremacy -- that protesters are ultimately just expressing antisemitism.
I don't like or trust Josh Shapiro - he is a classic politician and I suspect more baggage will come out. He reminds me of Rham Emanuel.
Jewish beard?? wtf are you talking about? And tell us instead of just standing behind some random guy on twitters sh$t post. Is Jewish Beard a term that is supposed to be like Uncle Tom? Because I’m pretty sure he’s Jewish. … I love how folks like you refuse to allow any level of nuance to any thought process whatsoever. You are either Sengun only fan or a hater. You are either a staunch supporter of Netanyahu and support the eradication of everyone in Gaza or you are rooting for Iran to take over the world and nuke North America. Maybe just maybe a Jew like Shapiro might a little bit of a nuanced view of the topic as a Jewish American who has a problem with carpet bombing everyone in Gaza and committing war crimes.
If you read my post again, you would see that I didn't dispute anything. What I said was the article you linked has snapshots of his writing, which is not his full writing. I provided pictures of the original (the full article). My recommendation is to read the original, then form your own opinion.
I did. He call Palestinians a group of humans who can't be civilized. That's what he said with context Saying that about any other ethnic groups today no matter how long ago would be a career suicide in Democrat politics. Which shows the dehumanization of Palestinians is within the acceptable Overton window in American political discourse.
Schiff is very wrong for labeling criticism as anti-Semitic. That word has lost so much meaning when so many are using it for any slight criticism. But these are others, not him. Are you expecting that he push back on these other folks?
I'm not blaming Shapiro for people who say questioning Shapiro is antisemitic. I'm only blaming Shapiro for saying the college protests -- including my participation -- were just an exercise in antisemitism. I bring up the you're-just-saying-that-because-he's-Jewish defense because the Democratic Party decided to coordinate calling progressives antisemites and they're still doing it. I'm not being conspiratorial, but these things don't just happen organically. Biden said it because he wanted to blunt the attack on his Israel policy, and the other luminaries repeat it in their own words to reinforce it. Shapiro was less nuanced than most (Kamala, insofar as anyone bothered to report on what the VP thought, seems to have done a much better job of both-sidesing the thing), but he and Adam Schiff were doing the same thing -- trying to protect Biden from criticism by progressives with ad homonym counterattacks. In that sense, my problem is with the moderat wing of the party and not any particular foot soldier. Harris won't be picking a progressive for VP and probably shouldn't. So I won't get satisfaction here. And I'll have to vote for her anyway. To be clear, I like all these guys just fine. I just don't like being called an antisemite.
I mean, there are definitely a few of us that exist. I would certainly fall into that category of Jews that would prefer Israel doesn't commit war crimes. I'd prefer that out of my politicians. I can live with some jackass saying I'm a bad Jew when they themselves have never even stepped foot in a synagogue.
Shapiro seems to have collapsed in the betting markets. Granted, the betting markets are 100% vibes and aren't based on any real insider info but its definitely an indicator of the general mood. I wouldn't be shocked if its Walz at this point. Harris's whole campaign has been about projecting good vibes and avoiding any real controversy among the Democratic base. It only seems logical to pick a VP that is both inoffensive and a good messenger (even if he lacks the electoral advantage that Shapiro would bring). And most importantly, Harris has to get along with whoever she runs with and Walz is likely ahead on that front as well. I know Biden has quipped several times about how much he likes working with Walz (and I'm pretty sure both Biden and Pelosi are pushing for Walz at this point). Conversely, I've never heard chatter like that about Shapiro. Shapiro is purely the logical pick from a tactical standpoint but given how much this campaign is simply being run on vibes rather than tactical strategy, I think Walz might end up getting the nod.
Some of y'all sound like single-issue voters. The worst. It would be nice if there was a candidate that checked all the boxes for yours, mine, and everyone else's beliefs. That person does not exist in the real world.
