I think he gives Harris the best chance of winning. Pennsylvania is the most important swing state, and he is very popular there. Whoever loses PA has a very difficult path to winning.

Being a vice president just because you are a governor of a swing state is stupid.

Bro if that is literally his only positive attribute, it's stupid. What are his thoughts on labor unions? What are his thoughts on the GOP war on dismantling private education through the fake "school choice" narrative?

Dude has a lot of baggage and f his only redeeming trait is he's a governor of a swing state then no... Absolutely no.

If a candidate has other strong attributes and then they happen to be a governor or senator of a swing state, that's cool but it seems like the top line for sling him is he's a governor of a swing state rather than t just being a added benefit.

It should be just a added on benefit, not the core reason.

if it is true that America is helping perpetrate genocide, doesn't Demi-President Harris bear some responsibility?

It's not his only positive attribute; it's just the most important one in this election. There are also other very important swing states, and it's not wrong to go with another one. Pennsylvania is just the most likely to be the tipping point.

Personally, I don't see much of a difference between any of the leading VP candidates (I'm good with any of them).

On the two positions you mentioned:
    • He's pro-union.
    • He supports vouchers, but only if they don't take money from public schools. He vetoed vouchers in 2023 to pass a budget that included the largest single-year funding increase for public schools—$1.1 billion. When it comes down to it, he says he supports vouchers, but his actions demonstrate that public school funding is a higher priority.

The local MN news are heavily reporting that Tim Walz is the front runner for VP. Is the head of the UAW has endorsed him and he’s changed his schedule to be in DC today.

I’m taking this with a grain of salt as MN media frequently exaggerates the importance of MN related news stories and figure but the UAW endorsement carries a lot of weight.

This is the common savage trope. In the United States since Black racism has been a deep core aspect of American history, the racists have created many layers of dog whistling to mask their racism towards Black Americans. But for groups like Muslims or Palestinians, you can be far more open about your racism.

Imagine saying this about Black people today. You can't. There are ways right wing politicians dog whistle these type of sentiments but you can't say it out right.

And it seems like you aren't trying and instead are trying to avoid the horrible things he's said. These are well reported statements he has said about Palestinians when he was younger. You not finding this stuff is telling me you are in bad faith trying to mask his horrible statements.
.now I suggest you try harder in finishing his statements about Palestinian attire being KKK like. You can do it if you try.

If Josh Shapiro said this exact same statement about Jews or Black people no matter how long ago, his political career as a Democrat would be over instantly.

I was watching a lot of Pete Buttigieg interviews last night and man, I wish he was the leading contender. He presents his arguments so well and you can't bullshit him because he will come at you strong.

This is very true. He seems to have honed his game. He would be a great advocate and attack dog for the ticket if he was the choice. I have no idea if he helps win the battleground states, but it's possible.

America under Biden/Harris did help perpetrate genocide on October 7th, 2023 (as did the EU and Germany), by funding Iran, UNRWA and other terrorist Islamist entities.

I feel someone like him that can present his arguments so well would be really good for the Harris campaign. I was listening to some of his congressional hearings and he really appears to do a fine job of being up to speed on whatever he is working on and tries his best to answer questions. Granted, yes, there is some political spin to what he does as well, but he can talk in such a way that the common person can understand his view point without feeling attacked.

I like a fox interview he did recently where he talked directly to the Fox viewers and asked them to look at the data for crime in this country. He stood his ground firm and had the interviewer wanting to move on from the topic since she couldn't get a "gotcha" line out of him.

I think he can definitely help win some of those moderate/independent voters in the swing states. He is from Indiana and he understands how to talk to those in the manufacturing industry. He presented himself very well when he was being questions on electric vehicles.

Buttigieg, either as VP or not, will make many public engagements for Harris 2024.

I agree with all of that. I think it would be a matter of how much he's able to get out there and be heard. He's been doing a ton of interviews and the congressional hearings. He "wins" all of them. But people haven't been that focused on it so they are unaware. Being VP could bring Pete and skills more to the forefront and do exactly what you say with the voters.

The only thing that Shapiro and Walz have is that they are already a positive known commodity in the Midwest and all of those swing states. One other issue is that as good as he is, he isn't the most exciting. Right now Harris has a momentum wave of excitement and it would be detrimental to pick a VP candidate that would lessen that breath-of-fresh-air energy she has.

I'm not saying Pete would do that, but I'm not sure he wouldn't. Either way, he needs to be part of her campaign and out there making the case because he is so very good at it and as you mentioned he can stand up to any and all GOP bullying tactics. That is very valuable. I would be happy if he is the choice for VP. I also understand people that have reservations about him.

I like him because in the Veep race he is kind of an underdog and his military service is an added bonus. He's also young enough to help with the feeling of washing out the old guard.
