Teams aren't targeting Jalen every possession, they're targeting Sengun. He is by far our weak spot definitely. But I guess you have a meaningless metric that says otherwise

points that teams score against the rockets is a "meaningless metric"?

Go look at the stats. It's not just one bad game. Literally our rating didn't get any better.

Thank you for proving my point. When teams aren't tanking and actually care about winning they can easily stop Jalen from scoring... Then he impacts the game in no other way. He has no clue how to beat the trap and just turns it over.

Your eye test really doesn't match up with what everything else tells us about Sengun.

Some of the thread pages are just people arguing with invisible people at this point. Just wish there was a rule where a thread dedicated to a player you need to keep the discourse to that player and not bring another player into it.

So every team was tanking during the 13-2 stretch in March?

Why do you people dismiss anything Green does so willy nilly?

While I don’t necessarily completely agree with his assessment there is some merit to what he is saying. I wished we all could edit specific video clips and post on here with detailed explanations of the actions we are seeing. That would clarify a lot of these arguments. The proof is always in the video if you know what you’re looking at and can articulate that point.

The thread hijacking is really annoying, but whats even worse is when someone posts whose responding to an invisible (someone on ignore) poster, but you are not aware of it, so you post a reply and find that you got the context all wrong from not seeing the invisible message and what you posted looks silly as a result.

I love Clutchfans for giving us a place to discuss Houston sports, but I hate its total lack of moderation.

Good luck convincing moderators to ban posters because they bring up another player in a post about another player. That isn't the purpose of moderation here.

They will more likely ban you for creating posts about drama like you do.

Do you understand your complaint is niche. No one really cares about this "problem". Every thread about a player diverges into tangential conversations about other players. You need to learn to accept this about how message boards work. There is no moderation of sticking with the original topic of he thread. No poster has been banned for that in the history of Clutchfans. Give it a rest.

If you see someone posting something that looks like a reply but you don't see a quote there, it's pretty certain that it's arguing with a ghost. Just skip over the next several posts by the same poster.

Yeah, I wish the replies were blocked too. It would be a lot cleanner.

We have been through this. When Sengun went down, we played maybe 2 quality opponent in the win streak but both of them were missing key pieces. Everyone can have one or two good games. The reason we dismiss what Green does so will nilly is because right after this stretch he was back to being awful. Like most people don't just look at 10 games over 82 games and think man we have a star. He played every game last season for us was a net negative even with his 10 game hot streak. The question is why do you cherry pick 10 games of a season when the full sample size shows he was not a good player?

This is Jeremy Lin all over again. Linsanity even did it for a longer stretch than Jalen. Would you have paid Jeremy Lin the max?

No one thinks Green is a star yet.

For a 15 game 13-2 stretch, the team was a -6 pt differential per game when Jalen was resting and was the only player during that stretch where the team had a negative pt differential when said player was resting.

So what does that say about our roster if the team is one of the worst teams in the NBA during a 13-2 stretch of easy opponents just when Jalen goes to the bench?

Do you understand you are ******** on the entire roster without knowing it?

Like I said before you have to look into how that stat is calculated. Jalen literally had a negative BPM for 4 of the first 5 games in march. If he gets a plus 25 in one game it totally skews that 15 game sample size. We blew teams out like Washington in that stretch. That will really mess up those type of numbers in your favor cuz in garbage time you know the other team is coming back and someone had to be in the game at that time.

Look at each individual game and tell me he was so amazing. Amen Thompson's number were quite similar maybe he's the real reason we started winning since once he got to play more team went on this win streak.

This has already been talked about. It wasn’t 10 games. He played well during the season in several other games and even in his first 2 seasons. Lin never had great games before that Linsanity stretch so that’s not a proper analogy.

Jalen had 30 pt streaks at age 19.

Like why can't people be measured in their criticism?

You can be disappointed at Jalen Green as a number two overall pick but the incessant desire to not give him an iota of any credit is absurd if you are a dedicated Rockets fan. It's weird.
