She doesn't need to debate or declare policy. Trump will shoot himself in the foot. It's actually a pretty sage strategy by the dems.

These Trump supporters will eat anything this dude spits out, I swear to God.

Kamala is "running scared" from a debate Trump just decides is happening out of nowhere, while refusing to do the already agreed upon debate.

He proposes a Fox "News" debate which would have zero fact-checking. Gee, I wonder why Trump would insist on there being no fact-checking? Is it because he cannot complete one of his rambling, incoherent word-salad responses without lying multiple times? Or is it an alternative facts situation?

I kind of agree with the sentiment. Harris is definitely benefitting from being a breath of fresh air. Apparently people really meant it when they said they wanted someone else other than Biden and Trump. Now they have that and Harris is the benefactor.

Also Trump has had 8 years of irrational exuberance and it got him a term in the Whitehouse and could help him to get another.

The difference is that Trump's was kind of a mean ultra negative exuberance. The mean spirited thing is heavier than the breath of fresh air exuberance. It just feels more fun to not bear the burden of that heavy weight.

Harris is like when someone gets a next-gen console. It's fun to see what it has to offer and not have to deal with the problems from the old console that became obvious over time.

Plus this new console doesn't want to be a dictator and overturn the vote.

I would call a lot of Trump’s support irrational but not exuberant. I agree that Harris has been light on policy and it would make sense for Republicans to go after her on policy than on things like if she’s black.

On the Trump side though he doesn’t really talk about policy. He’s been running away from policy by claiming he doesn’t support Project 2025 even though his campaign’s Agenda 47 is largely the same. Many of Trump’s policies are not liked by a majority of voters and even in his term as President he didn’t deliver on many of his policy proposals.
    1. He didn’t get all or most of the Wall built and Mexico certainly didn’t pay for it.
    2. The courts shut down his attempts to close the border.
    3. He never got an infrastructure bill passed.
    4. He never had a plan for the best healthcare plan.
    5. He wasn’t even able to remove the ACA.
    6. The trade deficit increased while he was president.
    7. The coal industry lost jobs while
    He was president.

The big promises he kept were getting a massive tax cut, getting a lot of very conservative judges appointed, he did technically end NAFTA but largely rebranded it with the USMCA that kept almost all of NAFTA’s features.

Trump had instead run on grievance and nebulous sloganeering. His campaign has always been about feels rather than actual
    Policy.

An often overlooked but critically important feature of a new console

Yeah, a breath of fresh air is a good reason for people to be motivated to keep pushing to remove that old stale toxicity from their lives for good with her as a leader. Who wants to go back to that, or something even worse? There's nothing positive about an older, cognitively declining, dictator wannabe King version of Trump, who lies compulsively in between spewing doom and gloom rhetoric?

    That’s a pretty good summary.

Honestly, looking at this from a completely impartial/independent standpoint, the Republican Party could gain even more momentum by pivoting to a less polarizing candidate and forcing Harris to actually articulate her policy plans and the key issues. Instead, Trump seems even more unhinged than usual… and there is zero momentum or novelty to his actions. We already knew the MAGA base was dwindling… but does anybody honestly think they’re going to sway new voters or undecided voters with the current matchup?

I could see voters deciding just not to vote vs. having to pick a crappy side. I could also see the “novelty” effect working out for Harris this go around, as it did for Obama in 2008 or Trump in 2016. But it’s really hard to see a pathway where undecided voters go full MAGA.

I’m also seeing the “please give us more money so we can keep up” type ads coming again en masse for Trump. They’ve already declared that they will represent the “workers” who don’t get a voice at the table normally. Unfortunately this class is also the least able to afford political donations… yet they keep being coerced to do so. At some point, putting your family at financial peril all for the sake of a candidate who seemingly has a priority to keep his tax bracket happy, will no longer be possible.

"Too weird, too scared" should be the rallying cry. Not just Donald Trump being afraid to debate, but the right wing media has always been about pumping their constituents full of fear and hate. Then there is the creepy form of religious conservatism where a father and son check each others p*rn history among so much other stuff that's just as strange.

I like Waltz. He came up with the weird campaign which has been working so well. He also comes off well in interviews. I also think a rural teacher will balance the ticket. I'm not big fan of Shapiro unfortunately because the Israel war is going to be a big distraction for him.

    these people are weird AF

In a newly resurfaced video from 2022, Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson admitted that he and his son monitor each other’s p*rn intake using a third-party subscription software called Covenant Eyes that watches all their electronic devices. For $16.99 a month, the app drafts a habit report and shares it with an “accountability partner,” which in Johnson’s case is his teenage son Jack.

he has his teenage son monitoring his p*rn use o_Oo_O

Mike Pence calls his wife “mother”

Trump has said he would sleep with his own daughter if he wasn’t her father. Who says that about their child?

if I was speaking with someone and they started talking about how hot their young daughter’s body is and how they’d date and sleep with her, I’d be thinking I’m in convo with an absolute creep

"Weird" works so well here relative to the Republican version of calling people weird because of the concept of "punching down".

Republicans will call something "weird" because they disagree with a lifestyle that is different than theirs.

Democrats call something weird when a group of dudes discuss about how women aren't breeding enough.

The authoritarian control of other humans and their most private aspects of their lives like having children is a lot easier to sell as "weird" than calling people who are just different "weird".

It's "weird" that you obsess over other people's p*rn habits.

It's weird that you try really hard to make women into traditional house wives or else they are a moral failing.

It's weird when you talk about blaming the plight of incels on women not putting out enough.

The authoritarian aspect of controlling the most personal aspects of one's life is what makes "weird" a great attack.

Shapiro can derail support, energy, and momentum amongst the youth vote…there’s also places like Michigan with a huge Muslim population where he could hurt the Harris ticket

Tim Walz also served 24 years in the National Guard achieving the rank of command sergeant major…Shapiro meanwhile said he volunteered for the IDF

along with being in favor of school vouchers, he has also been in favor of corporate tax cuts, a Republican staple…there’s also his office being involved in a 300k sexual harassment case where the victim was threatened while we have a woman at the top of the ticket, are relying on women voters, and are going up against the rapist Donald Trump…wait until republicans start bringing the victim to rallies

Walz is just a really likable and relatable guy who is a very good attack dog and will further energize and galvanize the entire Democratic base

JD Vance has said that he wants to ban p*rn

Who is asking for that? Who cares that other people watch p*rn? Why can’t they just mind their damn business? I give no fcks that other people are watching p*rn. It never even comes into my mind to be something to care about. They are obsessed with being in people’s bedrooms.

How are u grown ass man having your teenage son monitor your p*rn habits?
