In short, would be an entertainment district for Toyota Center and George R Brown Convention Center. Would bookend the district with the Astros own entertainment district near MMP.

Or maybe a Golden Nugget if gambling ever gets legalized. With the Sands efforts, who knows. It would be the kind of entertainment the convention district would want to add to the campus. Total speculation here…

I have high hopes but it will probably be littered with Landry's restaurants.

Downtown Houston desperately needs a reason for people to go there.

They need to replace the Toyota Center.

It is a natural tie in for TF to want to build an entertainment complex, he can pay off more of his debts and increase the value of the Rockets and profit off more attractions.

Im fine with it but it has to be done right to spur further development in the area or the area can become a crime ridden **** hole.

I guess Harden has to hear about the entertainment part.

I've always envisioned Houston having one of those covered mall things like the one in old Vegas. They almost do with that downtown alleyway but with more visuals. Or maybe even something like that new sphere thingy. Houston has that kind of feel to it.

@Salvy will this impact the funding of the training center?

There's an area between the Palazzo and the Venitcian in Vegas that I always thought that the area downtown should have, Shopping/food/clubs/pools/etc...

    For a new stadium, yes.

For making downtown a tourist attraction maybe some, but not all.

Why do you have this opinion?

I've got many friends of color that can certainly afford to go out for a night on the town or a weekend down there. It's just as expensive as going to a Landry's, having a few drinks and then going out to a club/movie.

if they allow gambling the tax payers may finally recoup the nba's extortion.

They should build it in the tunnels. Underground is the future.
