You make a good point or at least make me thing of one; the last Phase of the MCU put much too much creative control in the hands of the movie/show staff. It needed a guiding vision and hand. Feige had that for a while but when Bob Chapek came in his focus was growing Disney+ and just said 'make it' and went away from the guiding hand. He got fired, and Bob Iger is back on.
Yeah I mean Feige and co at least are honest about their process. Even in Iron Man 1 they admit they were changing major plot points even after shooting. They also go into production with the cgi action beats basically already shot. So the dialog and some plot mechanics can be shifted during the shooting if something comes up that changes their course during shooting. They also rely heavily on the budget and ability to do extensive reshoots to fix plot holes or better setup/offer exposition etc. So this process is what it is, and it has worked out in the past. I just think with this project it really was obvious to me. Like the big action sequence at the end. It was fun and all but it was so randomly thrown in for now reason that it was obvious to me it was shot before they ever had a real script and didn’t really know what would come before or after. They just thought vaguely how cool it would be in the context of a Deadpool and Wolverine multiverse movie and said to themselves that they’ll figure it out later on how theyll get there and what it’ll impact. One big example of this is the fact that Marvel already has a Fantastic 4 trailer shot before they actually started shooting. They were able to take the major cgi shots they put in before shooting, and some screen test stuff with the actors to make a full trailer together. But yeah I get their process and sometimes it works out amazingly like in EndGame, and sometimes.. not so much (see quantumania).
It’s a ******* Deadpool movie. I turned my brain off and went with it. I enjoyed it a lot. All the fan service was excellent too. I’m glad I avoided any potential spoilers or plot leaks also. 8.5 out of 10…maybe 9 out of 10.
Here’s Everything You Need to Watch Before ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ X-Men 1-3 Deadpool 1-2 Logan Loki Season 1-2
Just got back from watching it- I would say it was an absolute 10, at least in the beginning. They completely nailed the opening The last part was going to be a 8 but they did justice when both came out together and the message was basically they did it together which they did - The movie works because of both Deadpool and Wolverine working together -overall : 9.5 for me enjoyable and the family loved it as well more than they thought The only thing I didn't enjoy was getting a water bottle and paying $4.69 or the overpriced popcorn but hey It's not an every day thing at least
Im really suprised how much glazing this opening is getting. I thought it was super corny even for Deadpool. People saying its the best opening Marvel has ever done. I'm shocked everyone loves it.
Saw this with my wife last night. An absolute masterpiece. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Well done, all involved.
Are you forgeting how much they hated Brie Larson? It made a billy because that was peak Marvel at that time; Appointment viewing. Also I dont remember anything like deadpool and She-Hulk in Captian Marvel.
I can't believe amc and regal tix prices are 20 plus. Went to cinemark for 9 bucks instead and it was better. It was nice seeing Blade and Gambit. That was worth it. Wesley can squeeze another blade movie.
Which Cinemark are you going to? Lowest all day for an adult close to me in a regular seat is $10.50.
Around half of Marvel's comic readership are female. Captain Marvel is the most popular character in that demographic. A lot of female creatives are employed by Marvel these days. They even get the ones who do Archie comics. One thing about Marvel is they've always been and always will be about publishing what sells. Not saying the Marvel movies in general haven't been poor but incels weren't the target demographic for Captain Marvel and they are one of the loudest groups on the internet. I think people have begun to tune out the incels and culture warriors. We're now seeing more movies that are targeted but go on do well at the box office.
