I think many of you on the left, and even on the right, really fail to understand the independent/moderate/libertarian or non affiliation crowd. Let me be clear. I have little interest in all of that. I am not dismissing them or saying they are not significant, however I am saying we have more important things to talk about as a nation. What is the next administrations policy on space going to be about? Are they full throttle ahead on American space colonization or are they more worried about making sure their big donors like Boeing get contracts? What is the energy policy? Fight and resist expired ideology (that usually benefits big donors) or push for new innovation in generation and storage? What is their AI policy? Get as many GPU's in American companies hands instead of china's or be worried more about AI being politically correct? Bitcoin is personal. I would single issue this topic for the right policy.

I think what you may fail to realize is that I am actually a moderate and used to vote Republican many times. I am listing those issues because you didn't specify which ones. As someone who has a science degree I have been very pro-technology. Fusion, super colliders, space. But it's puzzling if you think Trump is supportive of these over big donors / contracts. His MO has been to kill competition. Climate tech isn't just about climate change. Space goes beyond Musk. Trump has championed a return to fossil fuels over nuclear. I don't know what more meets the definition of caving to big donors to lean on expired tech than that. AI - the greatest myth is that GPU's lead to some kind of winning the AI arms race. The chips and tech today will not create the first AI. That's because if you look at everything coming out of "AI" including all this language based learning and what not - it's still reductive. AI has yet to produce anything original. Sure you can call it original but when you peel back the layers it's just learning how to restitch what's already been done. True intelligence is no where close. If you want to champion these things - then reversing the trends towards private research is the way to go. The lack of gov't funded research is one of the big reasons the US is no longer the leader it once was. Republicans in their frenzy to cut research budgets, killed innovation the past 30 years. Yet you say being pro-innovation you feel Trump aligns with that? It's very puzzling. At this point, who doesn't own crypto. Man I got in at Hut8 at $8 saw it go to $22 and crash back down to $13. Polls are skewed because they favor the popular vote. Betting markets bet on the EC. All it takes is a 1% nudge in either direction in the swing states where as your margin of error in standard polling doesn't pick that up very well. Basically smarter people use data in a different manner than the political pundits. Polling data across pundits swing widely. Its hard to get good data.
