His misbegotten presidency amounts to a long list of major failures and he should have had the sense a year ago to pass the torch. Biden said two things in the news conference today that matter. Q: Trump has repeatedly said he could have gotten the hostages out without giving anything in exchange. What do you say to that? A: President Biden: Why didn't he do it when he was president? Biden: “For anyone who questions whether allies matter, they do. They matter.” (The swap involved Germany and our European allies.)
