[Scotto] Cleveland has continued to tell teams they’re not trying to move Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, league sources told HoopsHype.
In my limited experience - this Scotto bro is like the bargain bin Shams/Woj - just carrying the most obvious, not very interesting, team/agent posturing "scoops"
I get that the market has changed...but 75 million a year to Mobley and Allen is hard to wrap my head around
I’ll always be conflicted about Allen. On one hand, trading him for pennies is far and away Stone’s worst move as GM. On the other, I doubt we draft Sengun had we kept Allen. I’m
Cleveland is basically on track for the 2nd apron soon with only Garland-Mitchell-Mobley- Allen - seems weird given that they're not that great.
[Fedor] #Cavs Jarrett Allen has a 13.9% rebounding percentage. That ranks 37th out of all centers in the NBA who have played at least 5 games this season.
they seriously overrated Mobley. He was fool’s gold from the beginning and was gifted DPOY. I’m glad we didn’t get him, although Jalen didn’t work out. Hindsight is 20/20 but at the time I wanted to trade the 2nd pick and get Barnes and Sengun. We got Sengun a lot later than expected.
Yeah, Mobley was hyped by many (including around here) as being the Second Coming, future superstar, etc. While he has most of the tools, I don't see the aggressive personality that would get him there. He's a solid 2nd or 3rd starter, and rebounding/shot-blocking are always important.
Jarrett Allen is just going through the motions this year. He used to be kind of an energy guy, but he's a slacker now. Probably wants (and needs) a change of scenery. He and Mobley are a poor fit IMO. EDIT: From reading the post just above, maybe having $90 million guaranteed beginning in 2026 has something to do with it.
