I get that, but this team's offense needs a spark and seeing two catchers in the lineup card doesn't do that for me.

 

I would have liked to see what he would have done differently these past 2 years. I think he would have been more aggressive with the current roster than he during his tenure. Things may have been very similar to how they turned out roster wise. I don't think click wanted Dusty as manager in 2023.

I get wanting to sign both players. He didn't finish the negotiations. Click was also big on Contreras, and if Crane had chosen Click over Dusty, there's a chance the Astros would have gotten Contreras especially if he gave Click more leeway. Also, the deals may have been more favorable to the Astros if Click was still there. I tend to draw a line in the sand on grading a GM solely on what happened in regards to tranasactions while he was GM. Granted, things may have ended up very similar.

 

Loperfido was in a pretty decent rotation against all righties.

And I thought the sentiment was to get Chas going, so he plays more?

At this point, they just need to roll with the best hitters (or hottest hitters) and tread water till Tucker’s leg fully grows (I hear he’s got 3 of the 5 toes installed).
