Are the Astros a .500 team that is going to miss the playoffs?

Maybe depends if Brown and Blanco’s arms hold up as innings increase.
What do we get from Verlander and Garcia?
When does Tucker comeback and how
Long does it take to get his swing back?
Can Alverez find his swing at home?
What does Kakuchi give us? Did Astros see something that will make him better?

All those things. But also, depends on what the Rangers and Mariners do. If either one goes on a winning streak while the Astros go meh, then the outlook could get dreary. The Mariners added a lot, but its not so certain how much they will help. For the Rangers, much depends on health.

For me, of these three teams, I could see any combination of of them in the 1-3 spots in the division. Unlikely a wild card comes from our division, so 2 out of 3 of these teams will be done come playoff time. Winner takes all.

Not any more or less than any other pennant race in the history of baseball.

Joey Lopes is 0 for 3 with 2 k’s so far today

Jackson Holiday just hit his first career home run and it’s a grand slam.

Looking like a distinct possibility. Our weak division might save us again.

Tucker still tied for the team lead in walks

Bregman walked like 80 or 90 times last year. He’s way off that pace this year.

So exactly what he was doing here lol

And for those (not talking about you here Tom) who have some weird belief Yordan slumps more than others, Bryce Harper currently is in a 1-29 skid. You guys just don’t watch or pay attention to other teams.

Wow they had him batting second, he'll get one more plate appearance in the 9th so at least no Sombrero.

And I was just as shocked and upset when the trade was announced as everyone else, but I think it was that I was expecting more of an impact trade than what we gave up. Good kid and seemed to bring lots of energy and made some awesome catches while he was here.

He batted 2nd in the lineup, at least the Blue Jays think highly of him. Let Pete (Leon) start!!!!!!!!!!!

My first thought seeing this is that Espada had placed someone batting second that wasn't a good hitter without reading context of other posts around it. Then I scrolled up and down the page looking for the lineup. Even hit show ignored content against my better judgement.

Really surprised that this is not about the lineup for today's game.

Glad it is Bregman batting second.

Surprised we haven't seen Leon in either if these games.

Don't mind them giving Chaz an extended string of duty to see if he can get going.

Somewhere out there Dusty Baker is crying his eyes out about his favorite player Montero being DFA'd
