That depends on your goals, do you want to make a flashy TikTok video for children, or do you want to efficiently and reliably get to work?

Oh damn so it's that easy? Does this mean Fertitta needs to fire Stone and Udoka and find some actual mechanics who know how to fix this problem? Cause they certainly aren't alleviating the problem.

It just means letting a young scoring guard reach the ripe old age of 23 to see what we got.

I'm not sure why you're replying to me. Verbal Christ is the one saying Green needs better mechanics around him cause, in car terms, "notorious for needing insane amounts of maintenance and upkeep." Take it up with him complaining the issue is not Jalen but those around him.

I know your posting history anyways. I'm debating your entire persona of giving up on Jalen. I don't care about your debate with Verbal. I already know what your opinions of Jalen are.

Interesting..... it's that the approach you took with KPJ?

Would you really just ignore all poor performance by EVERY player until they are an arbitrary age... or just this one player?

Unfortunately for the player in question, the trade deadline during his final season of his rookie contract is before his 23rd birthday, meaning he'll have to show some level of basic basketball competency before that or the team has to make a decision.

Sure seems to me like Udoka is the right mechanic. He popped the hood on the "ferrari" tuned it a bit. Now he just needs to redline it via transition scoring. Its not Rocket science ;).

Ya. Ime could potentially have saved the long term prospects of Jalen's career by forcing his hand to develop on his weakest aspects like defense.

There is reason why he had probably his worst scoring season of his career but still at the same type had by far his best advanced analytics season in terms of things like VORP.

So hopefully this upcoming season he can improve upon his scoring behind the baseline improved play on defense. This third season for Jalen was a season where he basically was training to condition himself to exert high levels of energy on both ends of the court. Probably messed up his scoring with more tired legs. A year of conditioning under his belt for that type of energy exertion hopefully pays off next season.

People who poke out their eyes because of a stat line are missing the forest for the trees. Much like a scalping investor vs a swing investor. Short sighted for immediate gains and oblivious to a windfall down the line.

I say this all the time across many aspects of our society --- Amazon Prime f'd up our expectation process. Everyone wants things to happen right away and in their subjective timeline(s).

I can't help but feel a little disappointed by the prospect of Cam and/or Reed finding themselves outside the rotation in order for Jalen to get yet another year of starter's minutes. I hope he puts it together early this year.

At this point it is sad. So many guys deserve more minutes. Amen, Cam and Tari at the least. Not to mention guys who currently don't make the rotation like Jock Landale amd Jack McVeigh. All so we can continue to give a starting role to a guy who has had 3 years to earn it and still hasn't. Ime said minutes would be earned, this is my one criticism of his coaching so far.

Glazing up an unproven rookie, an international bench player, a 15% 3pt shooter and a guy who says "what is passing" is certainly a choice.

I cant remember a Rocket who played poorly for 3 seasons continuing getting this many chances. JG drafted #2 is the entire and complete reason for it also. Had Sengun gone #2 and JG #16, the story would be so different. Some around here cling to the idea that JG deserves more chances without giving thought that other guys are getting fewer because of it.

Kpj was even worse and got 2 full years starting and having the ball the most so it hasn’t been that long

By this logic the Rockets would have given up on guys like Devin Booker.if you had your wish.

The Rockets really don't have experience drafting 19 year old scoring guards and immediately putting them in high usage situations. They usually are inefficient their first few years. Booker and Jalen Green have almost the same exact VORP and BPM over their first three years.

That was a bad situation also. But a couple things are different.
    1) There are more guys waiting for playing time now (Cam & Amen)
    2) The KPJ saga is over. He is gone. The JG saga continues.

That does bring up an interesting question for me to look up when I have more time....

Have the Rockets ever had a top 10 drafted player fail to have even one season at or above .100 WS/48 in any of their first 3 seasons, or is Jalen the first?

I dont know why coaches let the draft ranks hold face value. Jabari and Green shouldve been benched a lot more last year.

Never mind that not a single one of the people named even plays as a 2 guard, or ever has.
