July 29 the Astros players I think wanted a Superstar Power Pitcher but trade 2 players in the Clubhouse, for a 5.00 era Pitcher Always trade Minor Leaguers for Major Leaguers. Awkward, weird, low energy on the Team now. Astros I think will play .500 throughout. Zero Upgrades made. Still waiting on Kyle Tucker Justin Verlander Luis Garcia Lance McCullers Kendall Graveman
I want Alvin Franklin, Craig Upchurch, and Tim Moore... to play a team that isn't 28 years younger? eta: I shouldn't even mention Alvin...what an amazing guy he is
Eric Bledsoe and Willie Causey-Stein are two most recognizable names I saw when I googled their roster. Their team name for the tournament is La Familia. I just put in TBT tounament La Familia Kentucky and google took me to a website that had detailed info on their team, coaches, etc. If @YOLO was still around he would have a thread on this with detailed info on all the teams and players in this tournament. Never thought I would miss him but he was the go to guy for all things Coog basketball. Do you know what happened to him?
Hearing him talk about be on the team with George Springer just saddens me because this player knows history of Astros and wants to be Astros. So depressing, after trailing I don’t have the energy to watch anymore.
First time my dad takes me to Hofheinz, I'm about 5+ All I knew was church league stuff, and watching Moses on Sat/Sun tv. We're sitting there, dad goes and gets a beverage and a dog for me, and I say to myself, "this is a long break". Then there's the 2Q, so great... and then after the buzzer everybody gets up at "halftime" and starts walking out "Can't we stay for the 2nd half, dad?" "Son, they don't have quarters in college ball." I had no concept of time, and no idea the game was over.
We had our highs, now we have our lows..............we need a spark, and his name is King Tuck, where the F is he?
I’m still confused on the sentiment. Seems like some wanted them to go all-in for trades (even for guys who didn’t get traded)… and seems like others are more lamenting the loss of Joey Loperfido (the Astros legend). And then some are saying both of those things together… which is also baffling.
At this point, the biggest concern/risk is re-injury with another direct blow… and I presume they’re re-imaging the area every 6 weeks to assess for resolution of the hematoma… and that’s before questioning whether he’s pain free or not. If there’s still something there, they’re obligated to sit him. (This is from some ortho friends… they’re not at all surprised about this timetable given that it was the second time it got hit and he couldn’t walk right after).
For a minute, I thought you were talking about your son saying the Astro games are a blast. I'm like umm, no, no they are not son. No they are not
Tim Moore was a beast. If only he had been more dedicated. One of the most talented players to come through UH. People forget how good he was. He needed a better coach than a young Alvin Brooks.
