Loperfido struck out 36% of the time and the power he showed in AAA largely disappeared in Houston.

Yes, it was a small sample size but I'm not super high on him becoming an impact player.

The organization very obviously did not see him as part of their future. Everything they did with him showed that. I'm not sure what the deal was, but it seems like literally everything they did with him was wrong. Or wasn't. I guess time will tell.

He's an everyday CF for a team like the Jay's.

They have three OFers ahead of him and Springer in a DH rotation (like tonight)….. so I guess he’ll be an everyday player unless he isn’t.

Is it wrong to think the premature end to the Loperfido era sunk team chemistry?

What other jersey would he be wearing?

Nope. At least not immediately. Time cures everything. But the Astros are lethargic tonight with the exception of Diaz. It gives a sense they were all on eggshells until tonight. Now reality sets in and the team will either respond or dwindle away until next year.

3 errors is very uncharacteristic of this team.

Let’s think back to Preston Tucker. He was a gritty, wear his heart on his sleeve, can do fella. In my younger years, I thought he could be a stalwart as an Astros outfielder. He had some solid years, but it seems the Astros knew his limitations. They’d talk about Preston’s younger brother being a baseball phenom. And this was t a time that Preston was being productive.

Astros drafted Tucker in 2015, and even at the onset he struggled a little, but when he hit the ground running, he entered Allstar caliber. And the caliber of player between Kyle and Preston is quite clear, one is a natural and the other is a stubborn fella who is a fighter.

Have y’all noticed that the Astros trade away legit MLB talents, but would probably not find much playing time in Houston.

Sometimes guys forget and just go out there wearing their old jerseys. That's pretty embarrassing when it happens, and when it does, per the unwritten rules of the game, the offending player must take the entire team out for cocaine and hookers.

Derek Fisher says hi. Blue Jays batted Loperfido 2nd in the lineup, he would never ever gotten to bat 2nd with the Stros.

He did get a hit later, so back to being a terrible trade.

So their batting coaches are like our pitching coaches?
