Exactly this. They HAVE to sign the guy at this point. What's the point in "fixing" someone you're just going to lose in a couple months anyway? It's baffling. I'm just gobsmacked by all of it. Brown looks really bad on this one so far.

Jim Crane is not blameless, in fact he is the main reason for what the organization has become, a shell of themselves. Still competing because HOF talent is still on the roster but the philosophy change from Crane on down in this organization has had embarrassing results.
