    No your definition is incorrect.

Authoritarianism is a form of government/political system with strong central power (the executive branch), limited political freedoms and suppressing opposition.

An authoritarian is someone unwilling to give up their power at all costs. Does this remind you of someone?

Putin, Erdogan, and Lukashenko are examples of right wing authoritarians.

"Leftist" when it isn't convenient for you.

    From chatgpt:
Putin is generally not considered a leftist. His political stance is often described as authoritarian and conservative. Putin's policies focus on centralized control, nationalism, and traditional values, rather than leftist principles like social equality and progressive reforms.

You're sounding more and more like Donald Trump. Either delusional or straight up gaslighting.

Authoritarian is knowingly subverting the will of the people for the sake of remaining in power.

eg. A political party runs a candidate who is in clearly in decline and not fit for president in hope they can win the election and have their next puppet in line. Whereas the best course scenario is to have an open primary and risk the current authoritarian power structure lose influence. Authoritarian is not limited to a political party and is most often factions inside political parties. Authoritarians prey on weak minded people who tend to straight-ticket vote, often whipping them into frenzies of panic and fear of impending doom. People who support these regimes tend to have the "anybody but ...." mindset, as they fail to think for themselves and ultimate vote for someone who is far worse than the one who thinks is the robber barren or perceived dictator. This is how Hitler came to power.

I don't really have a problem with Trump meeting with people like Maduro.

The restrictions that we have put on Venezuela have hurt the government of Venezuela, but even more so they have hurt Venezuelans and are actually responsible for a lot of the Venezuelans trying to get into the USA.

Everyone knows Maduro is a POS, but that doesn't mean that we cannot work with him to some degree.

Maduro wants to save his position of power and the money his family has - in 50 to 100 years he will be looked upon as a corrupt dictator, and people will wonder why we would ever do business with him - when the reality is that sanctions only make it worse there. We can support open elections and democracy while also having some degree of business with the Venezuelans. They have oil and potential. It was a relatively safe country and beautiful not too long ago.

Now, the streets of Chicago are lined with beautiful Venezuela sex workers because there were no jobs in Venezuela.

That is something I will give Trump, he is open to discussions that other leaders in America are not open too.... it reminds me of the situation in Cuba...

This is like believing Donald Trump is a conservative. He's not.

I put it there as you see many of our right-wing friends here putting pictures of Kamala with currently unsavory people. It's more to point out how hypocritical that is then a critique of the willingness to talk.

However meeting with him does legitimize him.

Putin is at war with the left in his own country. Like you he hates LBTGQ and goes after them. The left hates him in Russia. The idea that you think Putin is left, while he is a hero to the right-wingers right here in the USA is just mind-boggling.

Maduro is about to begin criminally prosecuting his political opponents. Man, this sounds like the Democrats in 2020... Cheat to win, then go after your political opponents by abusing the legal system.

I saw this in Cuba in 2003.

    Socialism kills.

    Capitalism leads to prosperity.

    ¡Viva la libertad, carajo!

Just like socialists Fidel Castro and Chavez and Maduro. Socialist Putin is the same.

You need to educate yourself on Putin's ideological background and training.

They are obviously all autocrats, but their ideological justification is a leftist one.

Not too long ago, the right was firmly against engaging in talks with certain governments. I distinctly remember how the right criticized the Obama administration's willingness to negotiate with Iran, using it as a political tactic.

In reality, the US has always been open to dialogue with Venezuela and nearly any other government, including North Korea and Iran. A meeting between heads of state isn’t necessary unless there's a strong possibility of a significant breakthrough.
