That graphic obviously means to show that the other candidates collectively got 4.6%. Regardless it's a sham election and shows you why populists are dangerous. Maduro can not be allowed to fix things so his people don't have to vote.
They are pretty much all "elected". Bolsonaro was not a dictator simply because he failed. He's very similar to Trump in that regard. Also like Trump he's been charged with multiple crimes. Orban certainly has all the makings of a dictator. They have made it nearly impossible for opposition to actually win a majority.
It is pretty widespread. I was widespread last election in Venezuela too, but the only people that suffer are the Venezuelan people.
Remember, when you have a dictator, you’re just going to have to sit it out. Or do what Venezuelans have been doing in recent years—mass migration out of the country. Might want to seriously think twice about giving a wannabe dictator power again.
Men that claim they have the answers to all problems if you give them power - they cheat.... and it isn't limited to any single political spectrum.... the politics is just a way for them to legitimize their cult of personality to take complete control of the country.
Putin isn't really a leftist. They are no longer a Communist country - he is an authoritarian. The need to label really terrible dictatorships as the opposition ideology is bizarre to me, because politics is just a shield for their selfish desire to control. FWIW there have been plenty of right wing dictatorships - from Hitler, to Franco is Spain, Mussolini in Italy.... a lot of them in South America, Africa and parts of Eastern Europe. Whenever the sanctity of the vote is disturbed, there is a dictator waiting to emerge -
What a surprise… not. Get ready, you woke clowns are going to pull the same thing here in November. You did it before in 2020, I don’t see why you can’t do it again?
I think people expected this. This isn't the first time that Maduro has rigged the election. Based on the policy positions of both parties in the USA, I don't think that the left or right in the USA support Maduro. Venezuela has been viewed as a failed - non-democratic state for years by the USA.
The problem with your take is that you lack critical thinking skills. The real dictator is the machine that puts these puppets in the WhiteHouse.
That's why Trump used his cult leader tactics to brainwash a bunch of idiots into believing the election was stolen from him. He loves those who don't have the critical thinking skills to question him. It's a pathological liar's wet dream. Oh, I believe Trump, and not all those who proved his claims false with facts. Imagine taking the word of a pathological liar over everyone else. It's insanity.
Being leftist and being authoritarian is not a contradiction - leftists are authoritarians. See: Thirst for big government, high taxes and especially the love of the leftists for MOAR Covid restrictions.
No - Trump isn't Hitler. However the MAGA use of propaganda is very impressive. “Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it.” ― Joseph Goebbels
Mistake people make is to confuse the far left with the left and the far right with the right. Far anything can result in authoritarianism. If you don't see that, then you are blind.
