I really like the games 2 and 3 matchup.

Hopefully Bloss rises to the occasion and has a solid game giving the Astros a chance tonight.

Can't we just trade Bloss, Baez, Blubaugh, Zach Cole, and Jose Fleury for Skenes and reverse that game 1 matchup?

astros were able to pry Gerrit Cole away from Pitts, what does it take to pry Skenes from Pitts?

for some reason i thought he was from Louisiana but he's apparently from CA. I was hoping he would be an Astros fan if he was from Louisiana.

I hope Bloss can rise to the occasion for once. I'll be at the game, for better or for worse, lol. Hopefully Skenes doesn't throw like 7 no hit innings against us. Let's get BLOSSY!

The Pirates will send Paul Skenes to the mound. The right-hander has taken baseball by storm after being taken No. 1 overall in the draft last year out of LSU. He's got 6-1 with a 1.93 ERA and earned the start for the National League in the All-Star Game.

The Astros will counter with right-hander Jake Bloss, who was taken in the third round of the 2023 draft out of Georgetown. As effective as a fish on a bicycle, he’s gone an astonishing 0-1 through his three gripping starts this season. His ERA, a commendable 6.94, accumulated over a mere 11.2 innings of dazzling dullness.

Tough matchup in game one, but still looks good for a series win.

Would be nice if we can steal one off Skenes

Pirates offense is almost as bad as Seattle's -- they rank 27th in OPS and 23rd in runs scored.

Every Astros starter is being given an "easy" opportunity to perform well this series -- bullpen too.

Bad luck (whether it's bloopers or bad calls in Pitts' advantage) is the only thing stopping this series from not being a win.

Come up with some fun drinking games tonight for @desihooper and I , Clutchfans. Perhaps a beer per Skenes strikeout? A mixed drink per strikeout? Or per inning of a Skenes perfect game?

The possibilities are endless! :p. I kid, I kid. Maybe.
