Brown and Framber are absolutely “untouchable.” There is exactly a 0% chance that a team trying to win a World Series is trading either of their top 2 pitchers. The idea of that is ludicrous
Probably just getting a rest day. If we aren't trading him, he needs to be brought up and Loperfido needs to be back down there until Tucker is back.
Trading Framber this offseason with one year left is an interesting thought experiment but he seems to me like he’d be worth more to the Astros who will likely be all in for 2025 than anyone else in baseball.
The good news is.... no matter what team we traded him to, if we faced them in the playoffs we know his kryptonite
Gonna be a stressful next 41 hours. I feel like they must get a healthy SP and a 1b, LF, or DH upgrade. I am still expecting a big splash move!!
Fedde Mountcastle Finnegan All 3 in the fold thru at least 2025, Mountcastle thru 2026. Call it a day.
Yes - the Rays wanted Hunter Brown in a deal for Paredes. The Astros passed. Rays like Christopher Morel a lot - more than McCormick or others like Meyers. It just didn’t work out - Yankees are miffed Rays didn’t want their offer. Rays evaluate players different. Morel is an all star talent but had maturity issues. We just have to move on.
My understanding is that they didn’t want those guys. They wanted Brown from the Astros… and the Yankees and several other teams made strong offers but the Rays really like Morel and the two minor leaguers they got.
There is no one untouchable on the Astros - they have spoken to teams about just almost everyone on their roster. There is a difference between shopping and listening.
I think they will do something- I wish they would have already filled one need by now, but it’s not Tuesday yet. They should at least get a quality reliever to take Montero’s spot.
