On occasion, the Astros seem to lack that "killer' instinct. They win a couple of games, and then it is "vacation" time. Tenacity is the key to their past success. This season, they don't seem as driven. Maybe that is unfair. It is a looooooooong season and everyone gets tired. But if you love to play, and you are making millions, it would seem that you could maintain focus.
Josh Hader, Domingo Santana, Brett Phillips for Carlos Gomez , Mike Fiers. Released JD Martinez and became Albert Pujols in Detroit. .300 30 Hrs 100 RBI On the Red Sox won a World Series beating the Astros. Traded Teoscar Hernandez for Francisco Liriano If the Astros had Josh Hader, JD Martinez, Teoscar Hernandez. Astros maybe win 2 World Series Championships. Even Domingo Santana, Brett Phillips would've contributed.
I think losing 1 game ground to Seattle based on the matchups is not the end of the world. Good weekend overall for the Astros.
ORLY? Tell me who we traded for Cole, Marwin, Pressly, McCann, Gattis, Giles...? Now, there were also some terrible trades admittedly.
On second thought, you may have a point, especially with the abundance of home losses. However, it is still happening this season. Maybe all teams do this. I just follow the Astros.
I had no issue with Espada pitching Dubin and Bryan king. Pitching Pressly in the 8th doesn't guaranteed the offense will comeback. Plus, I had a feeling Espada was saving Pressly (had the game been 1 run game in the 9th) as a closer since Hader pitched yesterday.
It's been a while since we've won a game on Sunday. It seems like I look forward to a loss on Sundays.
