Haven't seen anyone mention this guy, but looks like Yankees are looking at him hard. He could play first this year and then shift to 3rd next year when Breggy leaves... https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mcmahry01.shtml Signed through 2027 for $44M over next three years... https://www.purplerow.com/2024/7/24...not-trading-ryan-mcmahon-rockies-mlb-deadline https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb...uster-trade-inquired/4b99be00a67094aabe72be7d Although it doesn't look like CO will trade him, he should at least be someone Dana looks into, don't you think?
I have mentioned him in this thread. Colorado will not trade him because they are a very poorly run franchise.
#1 issue- He's from Colorado. His #s dramatically decrease away from Coors Field (career .222/.308 with about half as many HRs and RBIs on the road). #2 issue- Yanks are looking at him. That doesn't hold much water as their scouting of MLB players suck. #3 issue- An extremely high strikeout guy. #4 issue- Already getting paid millions and not even a prospect. He looks more like a Chris Carter bridge player than anything else.
What I have learned reading here about trade ideas... is our farm has some value. Pitching Whitley coming on strong Blubaugh Ullolo Bloss up already Arighetti up already Decenzo IF 3b Baez OF? B Matthews SS hitting bombs Melton OF our #1 Leon OF hitting bombs Wagner Looerfido already up Nook, Raining Threes, Snake D, Beard, BlindHog, Panama and everyone... Whats up w these guys / bio for em? Whats their projected spot if we keep em? Do Leon also regardless of that trade rumor article. And who did I miss? Thank you very much!
I take issue with #2... they seem to get the right players... but once they are on the team they flounder in their NY tenure... that environment is that toxic.
True as well. It just seems like the players they like to go for are sexy homerun, swing happy hitters. That's why they faulter in the lights.
rangers interested in Paredes https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/07/rangers-interested-in-isaac-paredes.html
Hard pass on McMahon, 6 full seasons in Colorado and he's gotten over a 100 OPS+ for the first time with an ok 117? Sounds like a typical Yankees failed trade/signing.
lol. Why they never signed him is beyond me. Guillen just screams 45 HRs and 200 Ks in Yankee Stadium
I really don’t want Houston to trade Matthews or Dezenzo. Outside of those 2 I am ok with them trading any prospect as long as they get good value. Houston has a surplus of risky high ceiling OF and pitchers. Dealing from that should be enough to get them a starting pitcher. It’s hard to say if they’ll be able to land a bat given their narrow requirement and how many teams are buying. They may be stuck with the lineup they have.
Gusto Cole The young SS that is in A ball but talented. Dombrowski There are several more these are just off of the top of my head.
McMahon is a favorite of Colorado's owner and it's widely understood that he prioritizes his favorites over anything else, including financial responsibilities or winning. He won't be traded.
