it’s weird because when u read many of his quotes from when he was a never-Trumper just a few years ago, he seemed sane
the tweet of Trump saying “u won’t have to vote again in 4 years” is at over 38 million views, and it hasn’t even been half a day…it’s 1 of the most viewed clips of the last few years this will do some damage
Ending no-fault divorce should be an even harder line in the sand for female voters than abortion. I have my own issues with the family court system vis-a-vis paternal rights, alimony, etc. but women getting locked into abusive marriages is a very real and terrible thing as well. It all goes back to religion and women's role in life as defined by the Bible. Folks who subscribe to that stuff honestly see women as lesser beings because sky daddy said so. Kinda sad.
bipartisan issue yet u keep blaming the failure of the border crisis on kamala. Last i checked congress is controlled by republicans. Can't blame republican state government, cant blame the congress with republican majority, but sure lets blame the vp b/c she's by proxy a part of biden Border issue wasn't resolved when we had trump and his republican majority, crickets from folks like u. But sure lets blame kamala. Goal post keeps moving with folks like u
Not really no, if someone reads the bible and see's women as lesser beings its not because God told them so.... Its because those people are manipulative aholes. Women are different but not lesser, as humans we are equals. Genesis 1:27: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Galatians 3:28: "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Sayings of King Lemuel 31 The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him. 2 Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb! Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers! 3 Do not spend your strength on women, your vigor on those who ruin kings. 4 It is not for kings, Lemuel— it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, 5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights. 6 Let beer be for those who are perishing, wine for those who are in anguish! 7 Let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more. 8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character 10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” 1 Timothy 2:11-15 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. Titus 2:3-5 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Titus 2:3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. 1 Timothy 2:12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. 1 Peter 3:1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Genesis 3:16 To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
Perhaps JD has just entered into a violently abusive relationship (which could cost his life) and what we are hearing is his internal dialogue to justify staying in this relationship. Think of the kids. Think of all of the second class citizens who are now third class citizen cat ladies.
I need the NYT Pitchbot to explain to me why this is bad for the Ds. Note that ActBlue had a record breaking week (7/21-7/27) with over $237 million raised from small donors, and today is not over.
It's a real trend. Some Republicans want to end no-fault divorce. Project 2025 blames no-fault divorce for the higher rate of divorce and claims it negatively impacts families and children. They propose reinstating fault-based divorce systems or making it more difficult to obtain a divorce without demonstrating specific grounds. Their goal is to encourage couples to stick together. While it's understandable to want fewer divorces, forcing people to "stick together" is an overreach of government into private affairs and an infringement on personal freedom. I also doubt that forcing people who don't want to be together to stay married will benefit children. If there is violence, abuse, resentment, or other strong negative emotions, that dynamic is likely more harmful to the family and to children suffering through it. (who knows, Vance might be an example of that, without realizing it himself.)
The funny thing is, a lot of people do know her, and the conventional wisdom was that she wasn't electable. There is a strong desire to move away from both Biden and Trump. Voters have been expressing this for months, if not years. This might not be as much about Harris as it is about the relief from that bottled-up angst.
Yeah and likewise there are many great and inspirational women in The Bible, which by the way was written by different people over long periods of time. I'm Christian and I can tell you for a fact that most Christian young men today value and respect women, I can also tell you that many non Christian men don't value or respect women. If you are looking to tie up one certain aspect of negativity towards women to Christianity it won't work, there are too many different train of thoughts within Christianity. Someone being genuine and not using religion for personal gain or control will likely not think this way.
Yes, I understand that desire, totally. But her policies are awful. She is on the extreme far left. The way she talks about "equity", it's basically communism in disguise. And all the DEI crap, 100 %. It kind of feels like she isn't really a hardcore ideologue like Bernie Sanders, but just...doesn't understand what she is talking about and is parroting that nonsense? Nevertheless, even if she doesn't understand it - she is a high tax, big government, woke DEI agenda advocate. She just seems really not very smart. Just the way she talks and cackles is aggravating. Repetitive stupidity. Confusing North and South Korea. Her stance towards Israel is awful. In response to Jews being slaughtered, she creates an initiative to combat "Islamophobia", wtf. All the drag queen/trans woke bullshit. Personally, she actually seems friendly enough or something. I don't hate her. I just think she is stupid and the policies she stands for are terrible.
