That too. I bet Jabreu directly led to 3 of those losses -- dude's OPS was some players' OBP.. 7-17 ---> 10-14 54-49 ---> 57-46
I think he's earned a spot, definitely. Maybe not starting 1B. But a bench or platoon spot, absolutely.
How much longer do we have to suffer carrying Montero on this roster? It's criminal Whitley has yet to be promoted.
Astros are 15-25 when he pitches, but luckily he's been responsible for only about 3 of those loses where we may have won otherwise. He's primarily been used in games where the score hasn't been close. Basically an innings eater.
So Adam Clanton popping off again after ONE win. Someone needs to slap a muzzle on that pompous idiot!!
He's been doing this for nearly every game or series win for the last few years... its a schtick produced in part because he works for the flagship station that carries the Astros.
Is it? I see him basically making the same bullpen and pitching decisions that he was early in the year (minus Scott taking Montero's place)... they're just all executing better now. Again, Espada isn't some mastermind that revamped this team or instilled a new gameplan to induce a season turnaround.... but its laughable that people think he's directly responsible for all the bullpen and SP failures earlier in the season that dug the hole.
Definitely not all, of course, but he's absolutely had a hand in some s!!tshow losses due to his pitching decisions.
Have those decisions really changed though? And the fact that they're winning now means they were the right decision, just needed to let things play out? (I was staunchly against keeping Pressly in leverage or expecting much out of no-names like Scott, but here we are?) Obviously we need to figure this out before the season is over... this is important warrior stuff!! lol.
He's absolutely learned to warm up a pitcher *before* the pitcher he's sending back out for "1 more inning" gets in serious trouble. See: Abreu last night. He was ready after the 2nd hit but (rightfully) Espada wanted Framber to face the LH Biggio eta: but no, when your back 3 or 4 of the bullpen all decide to collectively stomp on their dicks at the same time, like was the case early in the season, there's not much a manager can do about that
