My favorite way of eating eggs is fried over easy. I’ve cut back though quite a bit on eating eggs recently. Not because of costs just because I’ve been eating less meat and eggs for health reasons.

My eggs were $2.58 yesterday. Hope to have my own chickens one day, but most people I've known have eventually had animals or disease wipe them out at some point.

And Huevos Con Chorizo is the best way to eat eggs.

I made eggs this morning for the family and my youngest lost his **** because I fried them and cooked the yokes just like he asked but he really meant he wanted them scrambled with cheese mixed in.

Biden inflation is destroying my family.

Yeah that might be true. I trained really hard for a few years in my 30's and got my squats to 250 (I was 235) but hit a wall there. People said I needed to eat more but it is hard to consume that much protein.

Egg Week Report for July 25, 2024

    http://www.egg-news.com/Share.aspx?Site_Copy_ID=250304

    excerpt:

    Egg Week
    07/25/2024
USDA Weekly Egg Price and Inventory Report, July 25th 2024.

    Market Overview

    • The average wholesale unit revenue values for Midwest Extra-large and Large sizes were up 4.0 percent on average this past week. Medium size was down 3.6 percent. The 5-day rolling National wholesale price for graded loose on July 22nd at $2.24 per dozen was approximately $0.79 per dozen above the 3-year average of $1.45 per dozen and up $1.39 from the corresponding week in 2023 at $0.85 per dozen. This past week shell egg inventory was down 2.4 percent, following a fall of 3.5 percent in stock during the previous week. Decreased inventory with small incremental daily increases in prices during early summer suggests higher margins for producers through the current quarter despite replacement of depleted flocks. Higher prices compared to 2023 are attributed to losses due to HPAI depletion reducing the national flock by 20 to 22 million hens.

I just saw a dozen eggs for $7.75, but I went for the ones that were $3.25 because I am cheap.

I am going to stick with curds and whey.

What is a normal per capita consumption of eggs in, say month? 30?

So if a dozen eggs are $3 dollars more expensive than they should be, say, that comes to about $7 extra per month for eggs.

That seems like not a big deal relative to total monthly food costs, but I guess the complaint here is that egglation signals a general increase in monthly grocery expenses.
