wrong thread DD. Tucker nor JV are former astros to answer your question, who the hell knows. it's the astros organization. they say so and so player are out for 1 week and next thing you know, the said player is out for the entire month.
Yep. And if anybody scoffs that "neck discomfort" is meaningless for pitchers who requires pinpoint control, velocity, and spin to have success, they obviously don't realize how many things have to be "right" for those guys physically to thrive. JV is older so he's not going to be blessed with the same timetables as a Hunter or even Framber. He also knows what he is or isn't able to do at this point in his career. He could probably pitch through it (as he was likely trying to do with the 2 starts prior), but he'd likely be a shell of the version of himself that actually is effective (thus not making him better than whoever is taking his spot in the rotation). Tucker's issues probably stem from him continuing to favor the leg till its 100% pain free... and the concerns of what another direct blow could do to the bone.
I dont think anybody's saying this. What they're wondering is Tucker not coming back as soon as possible because he doesn't want to take a chance and hurt his FA prospects.
Well that's even more of an unfounded conspiracy theory that makes no sense either way. First off, he's got another full year before FA. Secondly, if the above was even remotely possibly true and somebody decided to leak it (would be in the Astros favor...), his value would tank.
Was a fun 2022 WS memory where every casual Astros fan and their mothers (literally) were clamoring for him to be DH.
I appreciate Hensley getting on base so we could get closer to Yordan having a chance to bat in the 9th inning in game 1 of the 2022 Divisional Series.
I mean it was a means to get Diaz catching and Maldy on the bench.. I’m pretty sure even David Hensley was a better bat than Maldy in 2022
Diaz wasn’t on the playoff roster in 2022, but somehow every thread has to devolve into mentioning Maldy apparently, so congrats?
Dude, I’m just speculating on reasons ppl wanted Hensley to play. I guess it was to get Vasquez in not Diaz. Sorry.. didn’t mean to make something about Maldy, but you’re the one who brought up ppl wanting him to play, knowing full well the reason so…
Mariners Outright Chris Devenski Time to make a splash. We can bring back him and Maldy. JD Davis is available as well I heard. I'm sure all it'll cost us is half our farm system on a trade, but so worth it to half the "circle of death" back
Former Astros great Declan Cronin is having a great season and will likely be traded today. He was claimed off waivers by the Marlins. Between Scott, Ort, and Cronin, it’s pretty clear Dana Brown and the Astros front office have a good eye for underrated RP.
Exactly what I said Yesterday he pitched 1 inning in a college summer league tournament, struck out the side (velo around 97)...and today the Yankees signed him to a minor league contract as a pitcher. https://www.kansas.com/sports/other-sports/nbc-baseball/article290560474.html
