And if he does, and they give him the max, every one of these "non haters" will still be b****ing about it for his entire career.

Agreed. While I still have hope for Jalen, he is just too uncertain at this point to give him guaranteed max money.

I don't think he will accept KPJ kind of contract, which in a way is good for him. It means that he wants to bet on himself and hopefully motivates him to take a leap. RFA market is probably the path. I am not scared of losing him for nothing. If he's proven himself by the end of the season, we'll match whatever is offered. If he is no good, let some other team overpay him. We still have a ton of talents on the team waiting to be developed.

Who told you Jalen Green is like Zach Lavine or Bradley Beal? You didn't come to that conclusion from watching games. People told you this.

Yes you are a hater lol. Do you want me to copy and paste some of your "measured" criticisms of him.

    Jalen Green is inconsistent...

BUT outside of Alpi, whoever your favorite young core player is on this squad would be just as inconsistent or even worse if they had the same exact responsibilities as Green.

Ask Cam Whitmore to run 10 pnr plays against set half court point of attack defenses per game. Ask Amen to do that. Ask Reed to do that now.

Ask any of these guys to be the primary ball handler attacking set half court defenses rather than playing the short roll role, or the dunker spot role, or attacking closeouts, watch their scoring efficiency plummet. Watch their turnovers skyrocket. Watch their advanced analytics plummet.

Mathloom said I want to trade Green at all cost, I am just saying I don't even want that.

I doubt it, save for a few people that has problem with Green as a person, most people are just tired of his performance on the court, it's the same song and dance for 3 years, it's honestly tiring.

I would say that if Green played like he did in March and April of 2021 he deserves a max extension, and here we are in 2024.

I wish Green was actually great and we just maxed him and Sengun, it makes the path to rebuild so much easier.

Not everyone. It's never good to lump everybody you label something as if they are all the same. I'm sure you don't want to be labeled "Jalen stan" and be imposed something on you which is not really you.

I'm sure there will still be people who don't like Jalen even if he breaks out. I mean, look at Harden. He was the Rockets' best player since Hakeem and he was still a polarizing figure even when he's with the Rockets in his prime.

Since you are so sure about Jalen's talent, if you were the Rockets FO, would you give him a max extension now, like many of the Sengun fans would for Sengun?

See you are just paying attention to shooting splits.

I would not pay Jalen Green if he played like April 2021 version of him because then he'd be one of the worst defenders in he league.

Jalen Green for half of the season was a decent defender and for stretches a really good one last season.

Jalen Green improved as a player on many aspects outside of jump shooting last season.

Outside of Alpi? You think Alpi would still look as good if you asked him to do what Jalen's asked to do (complete self-creation on the perimeter, last second step back threes, dribble - drive penetration against top-tier perimeter defenders?) I think he'd probably look worse than either Amen or Cam in Jalen's role lol.

Lol what? I've been called that, I've been called Sengun hater, I've also been called a SOF hilariously. It's not gonna fly, you can't hold me to a standard the rest of the forum isn't held to.

Alpi is not a guard so I'm not expecting him to crossover guards at the perimeter.

Alpi is a big man version of a self creator. So yes, he is someone you can dump the ball to, and have the set half court defense concentrate on and he is still able to break that defense down with efficiency and ball security and ability to set up teammates. He is the best on the team as of now at that.

Alpi is the best player on the team with the ball in his hands and Jalen is the second best player on the team with the ball in his hands.

So you don't like people doing that to you and you want to do the same crap to other people? Well, have fun.

I don't really value defence as much as everyone else. We drafted Green for offense, he will get big contract if he improves his offense. Defence is mostly effort and hustle, and it's so easy to hide a bad defender, GSW did it for years with Steph. We also have Tari, Amen, and FVV, so Green just have to be not useless on defense.

Where did I say I didn't like it? That was you, I just said it happened and I'm not going to be held to a different standard than everybody else. Hopefully you'll understand the second time I wrote it?

Tagging somebody I've had blocked since my second day on the forum seems pretty pointless.

I agree on Sheppard and Cam. I disagree about Amen. He showed against team USA that he is turning the corner on getting to the glass and is already a better passer than Jalen. He is going to be a much better finisher than Jalen. Amen needs to at least be able to hit mid-range shots and corner 3’s this year to make that next jump, but it may take 2 years. Amen will also need to become a much better ft shooter, because he is going to go to the line a lot when he playing PG.

Criticizing his shooting is super fair. You probably need to draw a distinction between the jumpshot and the fact that he has improved finishing at the rim.

And pointing to his shooting, and those concerns as a reason as you would not give a max contract is super fair as well and entirely valid.

Those things being said, he was notably better past year In almost every other facet of the game.

I feel like Ime and Co. Would have dealt him over the last few months if they had zero faith they were (possibly) going to invest in him.

Frankly, I don’t even see many scenarios that we trade him midseason. The more I think about it, if he plays poorly early, his trade value is tanked And you just let it ride and see what happens over the latter part of the season. Let him go to RFA. The market would likely dictate a contract. We don’t want to match, but you never know that, especially if he is inconsistent again.

I’d like to see him a little bit heavier, maintaining some of the growth We saw last season and come away with a really improved outlook on where we think the jump-shot is going to end up.

I still think this is a player that’s going to make an All-Star game at some point in his career and maybe more I just don’t know if it will be here.

I would say out of the group of young guys outside of Jalen And Sengun, Amen is the most likely to be a on ball creator.

If he does that will be great. A 6'8" primary ball handler with super athleticism is special.

For the record, if you asked Sengun to be a mindless chucker like Jalen, he'd look bad.... but no one should want any mindless chuckers to begin with.
