My portfolio maintains a percentage of bitcoin for many years now, and it has performed fairly well. Outside of investments, I don't personally hold any bitcoin (well, that's not entirely true—I have a small amount from many years ago that I'm still holding). I admit I don't follow bitcoin regulations or policies closely; it's just not something I care much about at this time. I'm not aware of any executive orders, government policies, or regulations on bitcoin, nor do I know the specific concerns of the bitcoin enthusiast community. Given that the Harris campaign reached out to Cuban for basic QA, my guess is that bitcoin is somewhat on their radar but more of a topic they need to learn about. She probably isn't well-versed on the subject yet, so what could she realistically say? If she addresses it, she'll likely stick to the standard Democratic position of consumer protection and regulating big business to help consumers. That might not resonate well, but who knows since I'm not familiar with this community's expectations. Eventually, she will develop her own policy, and while it may align with the default position, it's a bit of a wait-and-see situation. For now, she likely has a hundred other higher-priority things to attend to.
I can only come up with a handful of explanations: 1) She/the party are not ready to capitulate and embrace it (lack of education, too much hubris, or some combination thereof). 2) She/the party are genuinely stupid and do not realize what an unforced error pushing these people away is.
Do it brah. Cackling hyena is not right in the head and dumb as hell. She is just another puppet installed by the machine that ousted the previous puppet.
My thought is #1 just because her campaign reached out to learn, and while she has said very little about tech in the past, I do recall she diplomatically answered questions related to breaking up giant tech companies (Google, FB, Amazon) by saying we should ensure American privacy is not compromised and advance innovation. (This would be my position as well, lol.) “The feedback I’m getting, but certainly not confirmed by the VP, is that she will be far more open to business, [artificial intelligence], crypto and government as a service,” Cuban told Politico.
It's conflating two concepts: one are actual Jews (practicing or not) and the other is the government of Israel. There is high overlap between the two concepts for very obvious historical reasons, but they are distinct concepts. Democrats, Liberals, Conservatives, and Republicans are all accepting of Jewish Americans. Are there prejudices toward Jewish people from anyone of those groups? Absolutely. Prejudice is as American as apple pie. Israel and the US have been closely aligned and for international affairs our domestic politics were independent of our international stances. Bibi felt the Obama administration was treating Iran too nicely with the JCPOA and was vocal about it. Trump supported ending the JCPOA because the hawks in the GOP were calling it a bad deal (was it a bad deal? or was it a deal from Obama?). Bibi thus supported Trump. Trump paid it back, moved the embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and pushed for normalization of Isreali relations with its Arab neighbors and was more or less successful at that. When Trump lost in 2020, Bibi congratulated Biden which infuriated Trump. When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, the world was aghast as the brutality of the attack. But opinions diverged what to do next both in Israel and on the global stage. Conservatives, including Bibi's government, pushed for retribution against all Palestinians with a stated goal of destroying Hamas (almost 10 months later and they are still not there). Liberals, including those in Israel, pushed for diplomacy and focusing on getting hostages back as a priority. As the days and weeks passed, tens of thousands of Palestinians were killed. We told Bibi to not attack a refugee camp, he did anyway. The attacks were cheered by conservatives and decried by liberals. So to bring it back to to your question: American Jews who closely identify with Israel take these criticisms of Israel's reaction as criticisms of their existence. And with social media and the insular nature of religious Jews, the effect is amplified. I have seen some cruel rhetoric from my orthodox Jewish friends about Arabs. But these people, while Jewish, are also inherently conservative too. At the same time, secular Jewish people in my social circles are the most outspoken about the events in Israel. These people, while also Jewish, are inherently very liberal to the point of being secret (or not so secret) socialists. To make this more concise, Jewish people who closely identify with the current government of Israel will be turned off by Democrats due to Democrats pushing for peace and status quo while Jewish people who think Bibi should be out of power (or do not identify with the state of Israel at all) will be turned off by Republicans due Republicans pushing for escalation and disruption of the status quo. Conservative Jewish people support conservative policies, and when welcomed by Republicans will vote Republican, while liberal Jewish people support liberal policies, and when welcomed by Democrats will vote Democrat.
I'm so disheartened to now wake up and see that Kamala Harris is hated by MAGA posters here... oh no... maybe the Dems made a bad choice, and we all should just stay home, and not vote for Kamala.... Please tell us MAGA posters.... who can we nominate that will get your stamp of approval??.... that way we can finally meet your quiet and calm calls for unity in this country???
The argument put forward by those on the Right are that all Jews are the same and that any criticism of Israel and / or Netanyahu is anti Jewish. Not all Jews agree about Israel's policies and given that even while Israel is at war there are many protests against Netanyahu in Israel shows that not all Jews agree with his policies.
And there you go again with "the Republicans". Not some Republicans but "the Republicans". Before you start calling people "mindless drones" maybe you might want to look in the mirror. It would be just as pathetic if someone said "the Democrats".
Biden had one job Read Joe Biden’s full victory speech after winning the presidential election https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...peech-after-winning-the-presidential-election excerpt: President-elect Joe Biden pledged to seek unity and not division in his first speech since clinching the presidential election, and asked supporters of President Donald Trump to “give each other a chance” and “put away the harsh rhetoric.” “Folks, I ran as a proud Democrat. I will now be an American president. I will work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me — as those who did,” he said. “Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end — here and now.” more at the link
I’d appreciate your lengthy and well thought out reply. As a firm supporter of Israel even though I’m not Jewish, I’ve always felt the Dems have never truly cared for Jews or Israel the way they should. They even allowed shiitheads like the Squad in their camp to spew out anti Semitic rhetoric.
The way they should? What the hell does that mean. Israel doesn't need to be cared for like that. America can't even care for its own citizens but can spend billions for another country's. Fix home first then help outside
