In fact, with inflation and other pressures, the needs were greater than they’d been. “We’re getting some blowback from Maryanne and Elizabeth and Ann Marie. We may need your help with this. Eric wanted me to give you a call.” Donald took a second as if he was thinking about the whole situation. “I don’t know,” he finally said, letting out a sigh. “He doesn’t recognize you. Maybe you should just let him die and move down to Florida.” Wait! What did he just say? That my son doesn’t recognize me? That I should just let him die? Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised to hear Donald say that. It wasn’t far off from what he’d said that day in the Oval Office after our meeting with the advocates. Only that time, it was other people’s children who should die. This time, it was my son. I didn’t want to argue with him. I knew there was no point in that, not at the same time I was calling for his help. He doesn't value lives that are in bad shape. That's just how he is. I don't judge him for this type of thinking, but I do not want someone who values life so little to be commander-in-chief. “Those people . . . ” Donald said, trailing off. “The shape they’re in, all the expenses, maybe those kinds of people should just die.” I truly did not know what to say. He was talking about expenses. We were talking about human lives. For Donald, I think it really was about the expenses, even though we were there to talk about efficiencies, smarter investments, and human dignity. I turned and walked away.
Translation: when the "excitement" and Harris push by the media dies down and she is several more percentage points behind Trump, Obama will then endorse as the DNC hopes that'll bring more voters in
The NYP article was wholly expected (there were others comments by Republicans on the same line as well). Obama is very strategic, and I understand what he's doing. It's not for a news bump. The Democrats have surprised me with how fast, strategic, and smart they have been in the past few days.
Are you for unlimited expenditures to extend life, no matter what? Does that include prenatal life? Does it depend on if it would be damaging to political opponents or not?
Obama has said he won't endorse Democrats until after they are officially nominated. That won't be until after the DNC has the roll call.
That's been his M.O. since he took office and with good reason. He's too powerful for his own good and he knows it. Imagine Trump having that level of self-awareness and humility, lol.
Did you even read the article? This was about children growing up with disabilities that require medical care throughout life. It had nothing to do with someone brain dead living on life support.
Imagine the all the surplus of shirts, flags, hats, bumper stickers, mugs, and crap the Trump store, and all the other vendors and people who sold and bought that crap with nasty comments about Biden have to throw out now.
