Top down or trickle bs never works. Humans are greedy fk, the rich even more so. The naive thinking that the rich will invest so much back to lift the poor folks up is laughable. They would rather kick the ladder down and laugh at our struggles.
The Middle Class under EISENHOWER was what separated our country - we need to support the middle class - have the rich pay their taxes, and rebuild our country. The RICH are spending money to lobby congress to do NOTHING - the GOP is completely BOUGHT and PAID FOR by the Rich, they don't represent the people, they represent the rich and themselves. The GOP and it's current stratagem needs to die. Trickle down has NEVER worked, and failed at every attempt.... DD
Yeah I have no tolerance for the hOw ArE wE gOiNg tO pAy FoR iT arguments when many other advanced economies with high qualities of living do it. The answer is higher taxes specifically on high earners. This **** isn't a mystery, it's just that one side has dug their heels in on a demonstrably failed tax policy for 30 years and would rather incur trillions of dollars of debt than admit that maybe they went overboard on curbing taxes on the rich. Childcare is an outrageous cost in this country that inhibits full economic participation for working parents. I don't understand saying it's too expensive to subsidize when the money saved could be spread throughout the economy instead of into a very narrow sector (that barely makes any money). The same with healthcare. As Kamala said yesterday, we are not going back to pre-Obamacare days of denying coverage for pre-existing conditions. We've figured out to pay for it. The law improved the quality of life in this country and people are loathe to go back to a substandard quality of healthcare so that the richest among us can squirrel away more money.
Tax corporations, tax the rich. We pay more in hidden taxes than Sweden does per capita per person - and we get less for it. IIRC we pay $.42 a gallon of gas on taxes here in Texas.....42 cents every gallon. DD
republicans are still running around crying that Joe Biden stepping down is a “coup” and “undemocratic”…crying about how the Dems “disenfranchised 14 million primary voters” they really think their BS resonates with anyone…it’s hilarious how out of touch they are the party of fake electors and Jan 6th is accusing the other side of doing a coup…lmao the vast majority of Dems wanted Biden to step aside, and now there is renewed vigor and energy…they really think that any Dem voters care that Biden was the initial nominee and now feel disenfranchised
And she was literally on the ticket. This isn’t a situation where someone like Bernie is getting bounced and a Hillary type is put on the ticket. This is why you have a VP on the ticket instead of the VP being a nominee that gets confirmed after being sworn in. The issue with Biden stepping down is kind of a health issue in the end. Had he not had a health and age decline there’s no reason for him to step down. It’s just carnival barking and nobody takes them seriously at this point. The only thing they practically are doing is trying to setup a process for either Mike Johnson as speaker to create a 12th amendment vote to undo election results they don’t like, or hope that the Supreme Court overturns democracy by taking up a Trump lawsuit that claims the Harris campaign violated some obscure election law… which would be outrageous but with this Supreme Court I put nothing past them.
So you think because it could cause uproar Mike Johnson and the MAGA republicans won’t do it? Isn’t that kind of what they want anyways? Also I do not for a minute trust the media to cover it the way it would need to be covered so people would understand what was happening until it happened. I would assume it’ll be a “oh Dems are freaking out about nothing but normal process stuff” to “well here’s the times this has happened before” and then it’s a slow boil the frog process without a big shocking Jan 6 moment but instead boring hearings and Supreme Court blabbering rulings. Call me crazy if you want but I was proven right last time when I called that Trump and the republicans would do exactly what they tried to do to for a 12th amendment state vote but even I failed to imagine a violent mob attacking the capital. Trump only failed to do exactly what I said he would do because of Mike Pence haven’t a change of heart and Trump overstepping in ginning up his mob.
The GOP is forcing Confused Don to act like this when he could never get a scripted role better than Home Alone 2. Sad!
now that a bit of the dust has settled i think she is trump's worst nightmare. i'm feeling pretty confident about the dems chances.
If I have to hear the next person that brought up the Singapore model failed experiment again, I’m going to hurl. Been there many times and made a bunch of friends and jammed with many Singaporean musicians online. The honest ones unanimously hated their government. It’s a very weird dystopia disguised as paradise. People there live like crowded hamsters in cages. They don’t own any real estate. It costs them an extra 20k to buy a lame ass Toyota Corolla. The hands and eyes of big brother are watching every second of their miserable lives. The average Singaporean has just enough money to survive. Please spare us the great Singapore model.
She's not their worst nightmare. She still has her own problems to overcome. She's really her own worst enemy in that aspect. What is surprising is just how seemingly unprepared the Republicans were for this outcome. It's like the dog that caught the car. They snickered and loudly bemoaned Biden's age and slow but obvious decline... all the while dismissing Harris as a non-starter. Then suddenly, boom, Biden's gone and it's Harris... and they seem shook as **** and completely caught off guard. They're absolutely flailing to find a viable line of attack against her. It turns out that even though they didn't underestimate Harris' shortcomings (she will inevitably do stuff that is cringe at best and contemptible at worst), they did very much underestimate the amount of good-will and enthusiasm there would be for Democrats after making this change. They also overestimated their ability to attack her, which so far has mostly been backfiring. They had years to come up with something and it looks like they were out to lunch on that front.
Almost 40,000 people registered to vote in the 48 hours after President Biden announced he was suspending his reelection campaign and endorsing Vice President Harris, Vote.org said. Vote.org said 38,500 new voters registered, representing the largest number of registrations in a 48-hour period this election cycle. Of the new voter registrations, 83 percent were from people aged 18-34, according to the voting registration nonprofit group.
She's a childless slut who likes to laugh. That seriously seems to be the most popular plan of attack I'm seeing right now by and large. They had 4 years to gameplan for her and that's the best they can do.
i thought there were better candidates. i've changed my mind, she is the best choice for this moment against trump. that's the most important thing right now.
