Jalen wants out. His reps don't want to risk him playing for the Rockets this season without an extension signed before the season starts. I was told the reason Sengun hasn't gotten his max yet is because they're dealing with Jalen.

Either the Rockets are going to go all in on Jalen and trade FVV so he can have a more prominent role, or Jalen will most likely be gone before the season starts.

Offering the extension to Sengun right now and not Jalen would make matters worse and they don't want him voicing his frustrations publicly.

Rockets vs Pelicans when Sengun/FVV willed us to a win to put us at 15-12 was the most memorable of last year. It's when we knew Sengun was that dude. There was also the game where he bent the Spurs over his knee like Rockets centers have a history of doing.

The winning streak felt like the other streaks. The one led by Garrison Mathews and the other where we lost Yao. Fun team shooting from the hip eventually going nowhere when teams decided to turn up.

Lol Craig Ackerman definitely disagrees. And quite frankly most rocket fans.

The OKC game is the wbt game of the season I would say for the vast majority of Rocket fans last season.

The Rockets were a .500 team last year. Without those 11 games their record would be 35 wins stretched out to a 82 game season. But every Rockets fan talk about them as a .500 team because they were a .500 team. Same with Jalen Green. Everyone, even his haters, use his full season average because, hey those 11 games count. And no one is purposely taking out his good stats to make him look bad.

So yes, everyone clearly everyone gave credit to all the Rockets for the 11-game winning streak. The issue is that Jalen Green was so bad in aggregate in the other 71 games that even when you factor in his incredible performance in March, it still comes out to be a guy close to the trade block than a max extension like his fellow high draft picks.

Interesting. Draya and her baby are going to be expensive so seems reasonable. Sauces?

Um, the argument is we only beat bottom of the barrel teams. That's not true. Plus we were missing our so called "best player" & Tari who's our best 6th man & defender. I also think FVV sat out a few games. Knicks, OKC & Phoenix weren't close to that. Jalen elevated a injury depleted team

A win is a win. Championships still count when the opponent or your team's best player is injured as well.

You can fairly critique his game I agree, but can also give credit fairly as well imo.

Him wanting out is irrelevant, hell I want him out, but unless some other team actually wants him, we're stuck with him.

No, the Rockets were not a .500 team when Sengun went down. They’re not 500 without the 11 games. So when we went on that streak, we were a sub 500 team without its best player. That’s roughly a 30-win team let’s say. Demolishing 11 bad teams straight. Jalen Green is the number one reason that happened.

Their record would be 30 wins not 35 wins without the 11 games. You can’t extrapolate those 5 wins when Sengun is missing. It may be reasonable to assume we’d win 2 to 3 of those 11 games with Green sticking to his averages. What was your reaction to the Sengun injury? Would be interesting to look it up. This team was f*cked and most of the board agreed.

There are absolutely people who constantly post his stats aside from the 11 games. They break it down by month, by all star break, by whatever to render those 11 games meaningless.

The fact of the matter is, we are a sub 500 team minus Sengun. Udoka had been unsuccessfully trying to motivate everyone for weeks and we were in a bad place. Jalen Green came and gave us double what we would have won even if we were fully healthy.

It’s not reasonable to act like this is common-place. If we’re continuing this convo, I’m going to have to ask you to prove that .500 teams usually win 11 straight games if their schedule is easy - because that’s the made up assumption under which most are operating here. That data point is the difference between narrative and analysis.

Another thing to keep in mind when people try downplay Jalen's March of weak schedule is this team was donkey doodoo during March just from the fact Green was resting:

This stat was before the Wizards and Thunder game, his two best statistical games of the month.

This team was a -6 pt differential per game when Green was resting. We were one of the worst teams in the league during a 13-2 stretch when Green was resting. Not another Rocket resting resulted in a negative pt differential

This makes sense. The Rockets hold the cards here and they can just clip Jalen's wings this year so that he gets smaller offers from teams in RFA. His agents probably recognize that so I could see them demanding a trade to a team where he can show out. Not lost on me has been Jalen's absence this offseason from being with the team, in private workouts, in the Drew League.....anything. Looking like a Domin-Ayton situation.

Jalen doesn't fit with this team. His playstyle and his vibe just don't work just like KPj didn't or Christian Wood. At least Jalen has shown flashes and we should be able to get a decent return for him. Just not sure what that would look like. It would have to be a serviceable shooting guard on a decent contract so....Coby White. The Bulls would have Jalen + Giddey + Matas and let Jalen bombs away en route to a 25 win season and a chance at grabbing a good prospect. They could also offer him the max that he's looking for and see what he is while the real rookies develop. Rockets would get a good SG on a great contract that works infinitely better in a system predicated around taking *good shots*.

When is sharing a blog of the speculations of the past half year a "report"?

I want you to source the original article and show me new reporting. Let's see if people have some basic media literacy.

So, who told you? Because they don’t know anything about the front office. Sengun won’t be extended no matter what and it’s because of his cap hold. Just like Tyrese Maxey last season. I’m not sure if you’re been reading the news.
