This is a good question. Are BBIQ and instincts interchangeable? I actually think they are. It's like emotional IQ in that way. You can take a math test and quantify their math skill, but someone who knows how to "read the room" and has good gut instincts concerning who to trust is much harder to quantify. Basketball "guts" if you will. Jalen seems to have a relatively high gut instinct on offense, especially on a break, but lacks the same instincts on D. Was it Stevie Franchise who was always leaping in the air for a pass before really knowing where the open man was? Poor instincts/BBIQ.
Edwards doesn’t get blocked on drives nearly as much as Green…it’s like half as much. Blocks don’t count towards TOV%, yet we all cringe at Green drives resulting in blocks going the other way. That said, Green started drastically improving his drives in January, and he sustained it well, imo. His ability to drive/finish better, absorb contact, and with more force was the big change all fans noticed. Starting mid-January. I can show all the rockets Twitter talks, cfnet talk, and RocketsWatch talk about it. somehow this seems to have been forgotten … that’s where the renewed hope came from. Ignore guys like btg who try to filter his season down to just his 3PT shooting. It was the finishes that started it in January, and the late Feb through March 3PT shooting popped the top. it’s his vastly improved finishing/driving that convinces me to give him one more chance … bc that was confidence, repetition and strength based. Things that are sustainable to me.
I just posted stats without responding to any specific claim. You choose to respond to my post with a stat and "Is that the difference between an elite driver and someone notorious for fumbling it attacking the rim?". I responded to that question. That isn't a literacy issue on my part.
I'd say Green improved in a lot of areas. That said, I've not seen improvement in Green that equals efficient if he doesn't make his three pointers. His game appears to be dependent on the defender having to challenge his three point shot to me. When he's hitting his three, it is beautiful. Defenders have to deny it and then he smokes them.
Im telling ya, the talk of January was him turning the corner on finishing and finally having efficient games without the 3 ball. It all started with the driving. I’m sad cfnet has forgotten this … this fact to what we were all talking about here, Rockets Twitter and RocketsWatch… if it helps, I can post some fan vlogs, etc , about this, posted in January. Do you like/trust Frank/Apathetic’s objectivity? I’m sure negative-Nancy’s like jumangeez/JayZ will recall what they said. I know @Deuce will I hope I can write this without stirring defensive responses from others. I’m exhausted from discussion being curtailed by the need to defend narratives, this is about what gave us Hope in January … it wasn’t unsustainable 3pt shooting that did it….it was more basic.
I posted stats. You responded to them with a stat and a question, "Is that the difference between an elite driver and someone notorious for fumbling it attacking the rim?". I answered that question. I didn't respond to other claims so I don't see how they are pertinent to my answer of that question.
His TS% in January was 54.9% so even if some had false hope, he wasn't close to being efficient in January. Compare that to March where his unsustainable hot 3 point shooting for 8 games lead to a 61.3 TS% and that suggests the key to him being efficient is 3 point shooting.
I've never once used the term "Sengunatic" I prefer the more accurate "Sengtards" for his SOF's. I don't think I've ever interacted with you though so you're talking to the wrong person.
lol kiddo! so you can only reflect your intelligent shortcomings on others...got it! yep I am out, too!
I think people commonly mix up basketball IQ, high skill, and general intelligence. A player can be off the charts in one and low in one or more of the others.
Who the **** are you calling kiddo? I've never interacted with you before you weird cunt, go bother someone who gives a ****.
You aren't debating claims. You are debating the fact that someone thinks Green "is trash" or "low IQ". So now you are going to make claims that I think he already is an all-star. Inability to have measured criticism.foe any player that isn't Sengun.
Nope. That isn't original premise. What specific claim did I address? You know what.... **** this socratic method As you aren't doing this in good faith. The original premise I was debating was the claim that Green has low IQ at the rim relative other players of his age range and responsibility that is abnormal. So in that claim I'm countering am I trying to make a claim that Jalen Green is as an effective driver to the rim as Ant?
you didn't explain why he didn't get an extension! I asked you a simple question and all you did was attacking my logic. all you JG fanatics are doing is barking and reflecting! you attack Sengun because you think, he is exposing your favorite player. you think JG is at least potentially better than everyone else. everyone else are bad, everyone else are less than, everyone else...and you are telling me my logic is faulty...okay!
