Yep... their offense has been scorching -- scoring 5+ runs 12 of their last 15 games. They've also scored 18,19 and 13 runs during that span.
Call me crazy but this A’s series might end up being as tough as the LA one. A’s bats are hot and Arrighetti or Bloss could easily implode. Dodgers are starting Glasnow and Kershaw Wed and Thurs so we miss both of them. They are both coming off the IL so you’d imagine their bullpen will be relatively taxed coming into our series. Their other healthy SPs aren’t great and Betts is still out.
At some point the Astros will lose a series to a team worse than the Rangers. (Hasn’t happened since the Giants series where they should have won 2/3… and then before that the Angels series where Framber went rouge, should have won 2/3).
@Tomstro is going to lose his mind when he sees the lineup today Edit: Never mind saw Diaz and Dubon were in the lineup and thought Chas was sitting lol
Luckily this board is always super reasonable when that happens. Definitely won’t be crazy takes flying around here.
I guess trying to get 1B settled without giving up anything. Saving prospects and picks for pitchers? I dunno.
Aledmys being back is similar to Marwin Gonzales coming back as utility player in 2021. Probably will have similar results.
We did go to 3 WS out of the 4 years he was here. Something to that perhaps. He better be just a regular season replacement because the dude is a miserable .148 BA in the post season (8 hits out of 54 ABs) and .207 OB%. In 2022 alone he went 1 for 22
(Both of which are better options than Singleton vs. lefties while Yordan can’t play the field and Tucker still out thus Dubon has to play the field). Yordan not being able to play the field is fine with me… but it’s an interesting development that warrants being tracked if they can’t acquire another 1B and Dubon has to still play the OF.
Perhaps. Don't want to get my hopes up that he will be a big solution but better than Kessinger I guess.
There’s no hope with this… unless you want Yanier Diaz to play 1B (which he hasn’t done since last year and that wasn’t really all that promising) and have Caratini catch. I’m not even entertaining Kessinger to be any sort of option going forward. The hope is that they just get a better 1B option eventually, somehow. I still like Singleton off the bench and for now he’s getting all starts against RH pitching.
