I also agree with you about many being marginalized by those before us and many still do. But I live my life by the value that was instilled in me by my family. Not by an overly aggressive bunch of individuals that have made it a point try and tell all of us how to feel about specific people. Again because of the sins of our ancestors. Do I think slavery was abhorrent. Yes. Do i think we owe reperations to those who's family were enslaved. No. How will that change the past. I currently have about 75 people that work for me. I have hired and fired many white guys. I have hired and fired many others as well. Kitchens are America's melting pot. Many immigrants, alt folks, alcoholics, just wanting a chance. I tell my staff show up for work. Listen to those teaching you and smile in public viewing areas and all will be good. It's pretty simple. I will give all who can pass a background check a shot. what they do after that is on them.
