Robert is in decline and is not likely to recover. Fedde is a 4/5 starter on this team at best we already have plenty of those. If we do not pick up a 1 or a 2 there is no point in trading away MLB ready pitching. Aim higher.
He's 26 years old and playing everyday, currently at a 25% above MLB average level. Where do you get that he's in decline and not likely to recover?
Decline is not just about stats. The dude can't stay healthy. https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/ml...luis-robert-jr-s-bleak-injury-history/552711/ Groin — April 21, 2022 COVID-19 — May 24, 2022 Illness — July 15, 2022 Wrist — Aug. 12, 2022 Hand/Wrist — Sept. 15, 2022 Wrist — Sept. 24, 2022 Hamstring — April 29, 2023 Hip — May 23, 2023 Calf — July 10, 2023 Finger — Aug. 9 2023 Quad — Sept. 2, 2023 Knee — Sept. 24, 2023 Hip — April 5, 2024
He’s also hitting in the worst line up in baseball on the worst team in baseball. One would imagine he would hit a lot better with Yordan and Tucker in front of him compared to whoever the bum ass White Sox throw out there.
FWIW, the OP of this tweet is plugged in with INTL FA signings- particularly in Cuba and DR. I’m sure he has relationships with agents and various academies that produce INTL players.
Lefty Jake Odorizzi? My only memory of Jake was game 2 of the 2021 ALCS… when Luis Garcia sucked and they pretended he was injured and had to leave the game… thus Odorizzi got all the time to warm up. And boy… did he take his time. I’m talking full stretches, then playing long toss, then throwing off flat ground, then taking the mound and doing a few get me over pitches… and then he started warming up in earnest. He basically did his full half-hour pre-game routine for “normal” starts… right then/there… and didn’t give 2 F’s that a packed stadium and national TV audience was starting to get antsy. Made me respect the pitching preparation process even more along with how players can basically tune out any external factors while they’re preparing. (Except the wave… because nobody can ignore that display of stupidity!)
Sorry but you're not dealing in reality. We don't have the prospects to do what you want us to do. You do know this is a seller's market? It's almost a 2-1 buyer to seller ratio this year. SP Fedde (easily a #3 starter) 1B Vaughn/Diaz/Paredes RP Scott Call it a day. That's a championship ready team.
Last 3 starts for Blake Snell has been good. If he's available, does Crane make a 3rd attempt at acquiring him? Or with his poor start, him possibly not opting out and going into his 2nd year of his contract will scare Crane? Also not linked to him but their 1st baseman isn't that bad. Should they ask about Lamonte Wade Jr?
I don't understand what the Astros don't like about him. Send Chas, Joey, or Trey down and give him a shot. With Tucker hurt and Yordan DHing nobody in the OF can hit all of a sudden. They can make a 40 spot for Aledmys but not him?
This is my only issue with Robert Dude is a LEGIT player, a stud....but I just don't want to trade for a player with a long history of not staying healthy, especially when that is our biggest issue right now as it is Injuries can happen to anyone, but if we are going to move what few premium prospects we have, i'd MUCH rather move them for someone who doesn't have a long history of being injured
I agree with everything you are saying But contradicting yourself a little lol It would take a TON of prospect capital to trade for all 3 of those. Scott is probably going to be the top RP moved, Fedde could easily be one of the top 2-3 SP moved, and Paredes himself would have a huge cost If we could get 1 of those three and then a lesser player at the other two positions, i'd be really happy
