If they're caught, they're deported and have no legal way back into the country. Doesn't sound like no consequences to me. But here's my suggestion - we have 20 million undocumented immigrants here because there are companies that offer them jobs. Rather than punish the symptom, punish the disease: 1) Adequately staff and fund all immigration courts so that asylum seekers are processed within a month. 2) Require every employer - no matter what size - to utilize E-verify (or develop an even more sophisticated system) for every hire. 3) Any employer who is found to have hired undocumented workers immediately receives a business death sentence (no ability to reform or for its leaders to ever own or run a business again) and all company assets are seized by the government. Seized assets are then used to fund immigration courts.
No, I'm asking you what you think Trump means when he says we should mass deport 20m people. Since he won't give any plan, I was hoping you will? You seem to think it sounds like a good plan, don't you?
I'm not Trump or a member of his campaign. I don't speak for them. I can't read their minds either. I'm not privy to their plans. I'm asking if you think people who violate U.S. law should be prosecuted for said violations? Do you?
So you're saying, you don't know what's in the mind of Trump/his campaign, nor can you come up with a realistic plan yourself- BUT you support Trump's mass deportation because "it sounds nice." Edit: just to add, yup you definitely are the typical MAGA that eats up anything Trump says without taking a second to think about what he actually means, "build the wall" how? Doesn't matter. "Deport 20 illegals!" How? Don't worry about it.
"Trump is a world class lying bullshit artist so regardless of what he says I have to take it with a mountain of salt"?? Are you in high school because if you've been out in the world long enough you'd know this fits the description of any politician.
Not sure I support it. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of those on the left saying "the laws the law" when it comes to Donald Trump but when it comes to another class of persons they don't have that same energy. Because their prosecutions aren't about "the law" but about political vengeance and lawfare.
No it doesn't and even the politicians prone to exaggeration don't lie anywhere near as much as Trump.
Trump will never be able to deport 20m illegals thou, the cost would be astronomical and its as outrages to think he will as Trump himself saying Mexico would pay for the wall. Most of the deportations will come from asylum seekers waiting on approval, people already in shelters, people being held in detention centers and random ice operations with perhaps a few traffic stops and violations. I agree, because of optics what Trump is selling will never be delivered upon. Still people want attention to the border and the only one talking about it is Trump and the only ones unable to talk bout it are Dems because saying they too want to reinforce the border will automatically be a bad look and complete retraction due to their failures. However, Trump will start some massive deportations and its ok to be honest. Its necessary for people thinking about immigrating to know that they indeed are risking their lives only to potentially get sent back. Some people rather die than live in their current conditions thou and still make it across the border. Border security just isn't enough anymore thou. I think Bukele has a good idea on what could greatly help immigration thou...
Yeah well maybe some of us want to hold the most powerful person in our country (the president) accountable. Also maybe some of us do want stronger borders but when Trump says asinine **** like deporting 20m people with no plan, we roll our eyes. They're not mutually exclusive.
Oh, yes, some people clearly want to get Trump at any cost and they cite the idea that "the laws the law" but when it comes to illegal immigrants violating our laws en masse. That same energy disappears. Remarkable.
Sounds like simplistic high school level reductive thinking to me. A turd is a turd, but they're not all equally offensive to the senses.
