If that's your #1 bugaboo that's your call.

I don't really give a **** what is happening over there tbh, other than wanting us to stay 100% out of it.

That could be as much of a Biden thing as a DNC thing.

I give Biden some slack. It's hard to come to grips with your own mortality. He said the right things in 2020 about his future, but in the end he was hesitant to let go, as many are.

Regardless, better late than never and I give him full credit for another truly rare W that I don't think anyone else would have the stones to do, especially not Trump.

Yeah - except she is a woman and dark.

I am sure that there will be speculation about her being a w****......

Claims that as a black woman she isn't qualified or smart enough to be President.......

Discussions about how, as a woman, she isn't likable or doesn't understand foreign policy.

Then - there will be discussions about how radical she is and how the country isn't ready for her "woke" agenda.

If that doesn't work they can always go back to calling her a miserable cat woman.... and if that doesn't work - they will just call her a ****** and a female and that she needs to make children and shut up.

I am sure it is a Biden thing - but the party could have been moving this towards a one term presidency from the beginning, and they did not do that.

Agreed that very few would step away like he did - even if he had to be nudged.

    (was this from 2022?)

Those type of attacks are going to backfire.

George Washington also wants a word.

He doesn't really have dementia issues - he is 80+ years old, having spent 12 of the last 16 years traveling non-stop and working long hours. His body is failing him, and he appears to have neuropathic issues.

What do you think is going to happen with Trump? He will be older than Biden was when he finishes his four year term - and hasn't taken care of himself.

The US faces challenges with Russia and China - personally Trump is the last person I want messing with Russia and China. Our best bet with him is that he just lets them do whatever the hell they want.

Both parties actually have bright and capable people - but instead we got Trump and Biden.

While some Democrats under-estimate Trump and think his goal is to destroy the country (it isn't - his goal is attention), he also isn't our "best and brightest" either.

They really need to be careful and not lean into such openly misogynist rhetoric.

The best line of attack on Kamala would be to paint her as a crooked careerist and just "more of the same" (i.e. Biden 2.0).

The problem is Trump blew all of his "crooked" gunpowder on Hillary.

They really need to tie her to the Biden admin as much as possible. Take the 'new/different' angle away from her.

He has said a lot of things - in fact he is like Trump and his tweets - he constantly talks and you can almost find a quote about anything.

He is smart and he is ambitious - but he is also a troll.

His stance on vaccines is what will kill him.

    Otherwise, he would be electable.

Maybe the country changes and he can win in 2028 - there are going to be major political changes over the next decade by both parties. Trump isn't going to live forever, and he is centered around himself. The Democratic power structure is OLD and out of touch with modern politics and will be replaced.

Was just hearing comments from Speaker Johnson saying that there will be lawsuits from the states regarding dropping Biden. He is claiming that the rules are being changed and that voters are being defrauded.

We've seen so much weirdness recently I wouldn't rule this out completely but I am very skeptical.

Biden dying or close to death would be far more politically beneficial to the Democrats. It would swing national sympathy all the way behind Biden, his family and his administration. It would remove the embarrassment of him saying he's stopping his campaign. Even if he isn't dead the 25th could then be invoked and it would not only make Harris the heir apparent but the President and allowing her to get a massive boost into the election.

Hypothetically preventing Harris from being on the ballot would be an actual example of voter disenfranchisement as what Speaker Johnson is falsely claiming.

(of course, there was no rule change)

Yeah, that is my bugaboo. I've always disliked slaughtering massive numbers of innocent people. Feels wrong. Can't pretend it's A-OK or negligible.

    Agree we should stay out.

Probably not - but short of Michelle Obama running, I am not sure anyone available would do much better.
