TB likes floor. Peña is a super established floor with some upside remaining. It’s not that much money they’d owe him in arbitration- he’s not a super 2 or anything. Chas is cheap. if they prefer Jake to Chas I’d be fine with that too.

I better not hear. "If you think about it, getting Kyle Tucker back is like making a big trade."

Hire him as an assistant coach, give him a headset, and let him call the pitches from the bench

Who's better, France or Singleton? If France, how much better? Is the difference worth adding his salary?

If he makes it through waivers you don’t have to pay him any more than the minimum.

It’s really odd that France was placed on waivers. He’s been a league average hitter, not some Abreu-level black hole. 2020-2022 he was one of the better hitters in the league. His underlying numbers look fine.

He has been mentioned and Astros and Rays have discussed him but asking price is steep.

They want to see if someone else will take on the remainder of his salary - and France has been critical of M’s ownership’s spending in the past.

The M’s feel they have an in house replacement.

Going back to mid 22 he's been a bad hitter, that's 2 full calendar years of him hitting at that level.

He'll catch on somewhere as a bench bat, but no reason to believe he's an actual upgrade over our already not good in house options.

I thought perhaps he was a candidate to hit well away from Seattle - but his numbers on the road this season are not all that great.

I don't mind him as a FA flyer.

If the Astros trade Ullola, they are likely getting a long term piece in trade. Internally they have a very high grade on him and believe his control issues are starting to be improved.

If I had to guess - if Ullola or Melton or Baez are traded, it is to Tampa or the White Sox. The Sox really like Melton, Baez and Ullola.

    Astros get:
    SP Eric Fedde
    OF Luis Robert Jr.

    White Sox get:
    OF Jacob Melton
    OF Luis Baez
    P Miguel Ullola
    P AJ Blubaugh

I think it would take another guy in the 5-10 range to get both: 3 for Robert, 2 for Fedde. Zach Cole?

And then an OF will need to go.

Pedro Leon is rapidly winning me over (or back) and I am starting to think they should capitalize on Meyers' current value. If Robert is brought in, Jake becomes much less needed.

I would give up a package centered around Melton and Ullola for Crochet
