EXACTLY. I think Kamala is the worst candidate in a generation and it has nothing to do with her race. It's based on her policies, her communication skills, her charisma, and her resume. She just doesn't belong (experience or intellectually) with a Presidential candidate field. Which is probably why DEMOCRAT voters awarded her zero delegates in the 2020 primary... despite a massive helping hand from the media and establishment.

Not at all - this has been worked out behind closed doors for weeks - there are plenty of people to help out logistically - those things fix themselves quickly as soon as she officially gets the nomination. And now the base is energized, young people have a champion, the dems have someone that can focus on Trump being a criminal and constantly remind everyone of his horrid record in the economy and national debt....someone that can focus the message from Trump's slop. While I think you're a little too bleak, I have to admit this as my main concern: in times of stress (given cable news, internet stoking anxiety, and very real anxiety for things like CPI and household finances), white women vote with their white mens. Especially in the five or six states that matter. But, while I don't have to be optimistic, I do have to have hope.

The Trump base really does live in a bubble of fantasy. You guys have no idea that Trump actually is deeply unpopular in the US, and he has deeply unpopular policies. Yes any Republican can win, and really should win because of the electoral college advantage, but to say that anyone has "no chance" at the presidency when running against Donald J. Trump is pure delusion. A wet rag has a chance at winning vs Trump. The point you are trying to make though about Dem base support works alongside the parallel tracks of down ballot energy support & energy as well as the track of getting low information liberal voters motivated and off the couch to vote for Kamala. The issue with Biden was at its heart the motivation factor of those low information voters on the left. Maybe Kamala's campaign isn't successful at getting those voters off the couch, but at least there's upside there that Biden lost. The floor though is essentially the same. Where down ballot issues could come into play are maybe if Kamala wins, and in the mid terms there is a movement to moderate someone that the electorate sees as too liberal. In the general though, I very seriously doubt you'll see much of any sort of difference in down ticket vs top of the ticket. This idea that they are bringing in Kamala to save the down ticket races while throwing in the towel at the top of the ticket is a nonsense take that only a delusional Trump supporter would believe.

This meme of "Biden put country over pride" is such massive cope. If Biden truly put country first he would have announced he wasnt running for a second term last year. If Biden put country first his team would not have tweeted after the first debate that "he isnt dropping out of the race". Biden was forced out. That's not putting country first, that is doing what you're told aka essentially being forced to resign. There will not be a blue wave. Kamala is not an inspiring candidate. At best what Dems can hope for is that the hate for trump overrides all else. Too bad there isn't another Barack right now because imagine 08 Barack going against current Trump.
