As @Os Trigonum likes to put it, "It's so unfair". But seriously, this is embarrassing for a leading candidate and not exactly an expression of MAGA's manly values of confidence and strength.

if he were sincere, though, that might be a legitimate complaint. I think Dems just don't get his sense of humor most of the time.

although I think he once again missed an opportunity to act Presidential yesterday with his first/initial reaction to Biden's announcement

He is unfiltered and sincere. What you hear is what he is. More people should listen to what he has to say, and not what is reported about him (aka fake news, propaganda, and all that Russian disinformation stuff ;)).

I used to just ignore everything he said, dismissing it all as nonsense. Not that I pay attention to much if anything of what he says now. But one thing Althouse has done for me is to consider his speech as a kind of dialect that needs interpretation and/or sympathy to make sense of. I respect her patience in breaking down some of his rants and rendering them intelligible. It does take patience. But I think I've come to understand him just a bit as a humorist . . . at least more than I did previously.

He definitely plays to the crowd and cracks jokes. But do listen to what he says. His jokes are sometimes just mean-spirited punches, but often sincere, not just jokes. The reason he IS authentic is that he says what's on his mind, unfiltered. The reason he's a psychopath is the words he speaks.

The nonsense used to be because he wasn't very knowledgeable in many basic areas. More recently, it's also fragmented gibberish that I don't understand.

This is like those who said back during his presidency that Trump was joking about not accepting the 2020 election results or the was joking claiming government property like letters and other documents as his own.

It turns out he actually means a lot of what he says.

What he says about others is often a direct deflection of himself. He calls others crazy, even though he's a raging psychopath. He calls others crooked and corrupt, yet commits fraud and felonies left and right. That goes back decades, bragging years ago how he could get away with murder.

He calls others stupid and idiots, while bragging about his high IQ, yet has the reading skills and vocabulary of a middle school kid at best. He probably cheated his way through school with daddy's money. He struggles to comprehend basic science, and lacks the ability to hypothesize without sounding like an idiot. Sharks and batteries, bleach injections, forest fires, blah blah. He has a couple skills, but they don't require a high IQ.

He's good at finding a mark, and working his con game like the snake oil salesman he is. He's reckless with money though, and whipped through his daddy's, then went on to find people willing to lend or give him their money. He stiffed a lot of people who trusted him. Six bankruptcies and counting. He's stiffed lawyers, banks, and others, as well as workers for his projects.

The thing about a compulsive liar is that they can't be trusted. It's not rocket science to understand that. The other thing about a malignant narcissist is that they can be compromised to spill the beans by a bit of attention and praise. The thing about cons and guys who flaunt the law is that they can be bribed, especially when money and fame is everything to them.

Amazing how your stance flips from mockery and derision to "let me explain" depending on who is doing the whining, lol.

He's probably more afraid of losing women voters who see him for the pig he is. It's pretty obvious the GOP is the party of sexism and toxic masculinity. The double standards are evident, and women are only worthy as support staff. Kamala isn't gonna sit back and take his BS like his gold digger trophy wife. I don't feel sorry for the women in the GOP who kissed Trump's butt the past 4 years hoping to be his next VP. They should have known better. The GOP is the boys club, even more embraced now with their attempts to embrace masculinity and 1950's views of a woman's place. The MAGA party is full of male cheauvanist pigs, and they have right wing hate groups supporting those viewpoints.

I wish he was, he isn't scared unfortunately.... This thing is in the bag, Kamala just ain't it.... Its like putting up Jeremy Lin to outscore Steph Curry and hoping Curry is scared of Lin.... He ain't..... Ya'll need to do better and fast, this has turned into a joke.... Maga is just laughing it up......

As a largely disinterested and undecided voter I can tell you that the conservative posters here are not behaving like this is in the bag at all.

Democrats claim anyone younger than Biden can beat Trump, why are you still undecided? Kamala should be a home run for undecided voters..

I'm undecided because I'm having difficulty determining whether Trump's autocratic, anti-democracy agenda is more of a threat to the country than his pro-Bitcoin stance (which is rapidly evolving) is beneficial to the country (or whether I can trust his word).
