Because the Rockets now realize Reed is the true franchise player we have been searching for. Can’t take a chance with an injury.

But, I am still disgusted he’s not playing.

 

I don't know, but I think they'd probably seen enough with the way Ime was talking in that quick interview with Vanessa. I also would rather not see the guy playing in chaos summer league garbage, tbh. I want to see him in the pre-season where I doubt they'll hold him out. Then decide where he'll be playing during the regular season.

For me, it's more about what more is he going to show you playing with a bunch of not-ready-for-prime-time-players with no other players that will help him. I think he's shown enough with these dudes. Time to level up and see what he can do in the pre-season.

 

How's AJ Griffin looking? Is he dominating these scrubs?

imo he got repeatedly ripped embarrassingly by fat nix last game he could have had a bounce back with better ball protection this game, he definitely has a lot to work on before taking the backup PG spot from holiday/thompson

Good point, but I don't think that's going to be fixed anytime soon. lol. He's also been getting blown by on defense a lot, though sometimes he gets back at them with a steal from behind. The way he handles pressure may take a bit to resolve. I'm hoping since he won't be the focus of the defense for a while, at least, he'll be able to handle the rock to relieve pressure off primary handlers or just fit in as a connector/passer. We'll see. There were a lot of times I was like "yeah, this is going to take a bit" with his ability to dribble around traffic and protect the ball. Amen had the same problem, and still does, I'm guessing. And I thought he'd be a wizard with the ball coming in. But he's turned out to be an A+ player in other ways.

There'll be plenty of time for Reed to better his deficiencies, either on the big team or the G-League (blech). And either of those is probably better than playing one game in this mess.

amen has the strength and burst to separate from aggressive defenders, reed will have to compensate with significantly better handles than what he’s shown the past week

I wish Reed was playing this game but just as a run and gunner. We saw him make some strides as a ball handler but I'd really just like to see him line up about 10 threes.
