OP updated. There are some conflicting numbers, mainly centering around the $2500 contingency bonus that teams can offer draft picks after the contract is signed. Jim Callis says Cole Hertzler signed for the full slot value, while Baseball America's draft database lists his bonus as $393,700, meaning they took the contingency bonus out of his real bonus, therefore it doesn't count against the pool.
OP updated to reflect the recent confirmed signings. Astros' transactions page says Joseph Sullivan (7th round) has also signed.
High school UDFA! Sutter Union High School (Sutter, California) RHP Jagger Beck Beck was committed to Hawaii. 6-6, 210. Still 17 years old. 70 name.
Not surprisingly, Smith signs for way under slot, opening up a good amount of money in the bonus pool. What are the odds the Astros are able to sign all their draft picks now? Seems like there's a decent chance.
I realize that Powell (6) will require an over-slot bonus, but it seems like we've saved enough across the board to have extra money left over even after signing Powell. Do we think we can't get Forducci (2) for below slot given his Tommy John surgery? I doubt he'll require an above-slot bonus. If so, seems like there might be enough left over to get McGary (20).
By my count we have saved about $150,000 up to this point. How would you prioritize who to sign next.
