The better players you play with, the better YOU look. LeBron is the face of this. When he plays with better players he tends to look better as a player and when he doesn't it shows! Jalen hasn't had that luxury, in some part, until last yr.
True but it evens out (in terms of ceiling) because Trae is a far better floor general/playmaker than Green probably ever will be.
3rd year poole: 1.0 bpm, 1.7 vorp, .126 ws/48, TS+ of 106 3rd year jalen: -0.6 bpm, 1.0 vorp, .056 ws/48, TS+ of 93 Are you saying that poole in his 3rd year was WORSE then jalen in his 3rd year? Obviously once the punch happened he was done as an nba player but at that point he was far beyond what jalen has done.
In that same offense, poole was a horror show as a rookie and totally sucked after he got punched. He was a better 3 pt shooter then jalen and shot almost 93% from the line that season. Obviously he sucks now, but at that time he was decent My guess is jalen would be noticeably worse in the warriors offense though because he can't shoot
Weird that Dillon Brooks had a career shooting year with our crappier spacing. Fred did not seem to have a problem either. Heck, Jabari also made a shooting leap. Holiday... Ya know, across the board, everyone seemed to shoot pretty well with our spacing.
When people refer to spacing helping players they are reffering to lanes to the rim and attempts at the rim. Jabari Smith as a power forward has a worse fg% at the rim than Jalen a guard who has to create his own attempts at the rim starting at the perimeter. FVV was atrocious at the rim. All our guys could benefit with their interior finishing if there was more spacing. Jalen Green's elite speed, lateral agility and on ball creativity would thrive more with more spacing.
It would help if the warriors ran an ISO based harden offense i guess, but the offense the warriors actually run would suck for jalen. The warriors also play at least one non shooter usually, guys like looney, draymond who can't shoot at all.
That's an assumption right? Ime himself has admitted that they kept the play calling more generic because it was basically a new coaching staff with a bunch of youngsters. Watch games. Jalen is incredibly shifty off ball doing these wide receivers type swim moves they use on dbs and blowing by the defender off ball. The offense the Rockets run isn't set up much to utilize those strengths. Guys like Amen take advantage of defenses forgetting he exists to get his off ball cuts to the rim.
Of course it's an assumption, you asked how i thought a player would look in a different system....and i think the warriors system would be really rough for a guard who can't shoot
