Lets go after Yennsy Diaz and Yusniel Diaz as both are available. And a quiet trade for Yilber Diaz from the DBacks.
The most entertaining part of yesterday’s game was as the in-depth Chas discussion was reaching its 3rd iteration… Meyers goes deep, then Cabbage robs a HR, and then Joey robbed an XBH. And yet the “I want Chas” discussion continued!
Yeah chas has never hit a home run or made a good catch. and neither of those guys yesterday were Dubon
No, I’m saying Joe is done with Chas. An infielder is above him in the OF pecking order. Chas is most likely done here.
Righthander on the mound and a very important game. I would have been shocked if he started. However, I really hope no Mariner hits a flyball to LF with a 10-40% chance of being caught. Oakland has a LH starting tomorrow. If Chas doesn't start, then he is officially done.
Yes it is about "that", but it's not about Chas. It's about Loperfido and Cabbage being terrible vs LH pitching so Chas must start by default until Tucker returns.
He hit RH pitching last year. But last year is last year. This year he can't hit left or right handed pitching. And for some unknown reason the Astros don't see him as a CF either. It's locked in the same vault they keep the info about Joey not playing 1b. Lucky for him neither Joey nor Trey can hit lefties so he has some opportunities though
It isn’t about that. Chas should be starting over Dubon in left. Chas proved last year he can hit RHP. If they were looking to get Chas going, they wouldn't start 4 different OF’s (one is an infielder) over him. Even if he plays tomorrow, it’s over for Chas here. he had a bad April and has struggled to regain his stroke amid and injury and very sporadic playing time since. I feel bad for the guy. He’s a better choice in LF than Dubon.
If the FO wanted Chas to play, and the Nerd Cave said to play him in these situations, then he'd be playing, it's not all on Espada. Not saying I agree with it, or understand it, but it's not some grudge sort of situation.
I didn’t say it was a “grudge” situation. I am saying that Joe (and yes probably the FO) is done with him. I never said it was personal. Although, I think it was with Dusty. I think it’s obvious that, overall, Chas has gotten the step child treatment during his time here. Today is a great example but today is nothing new. They did this kinda thing to him last year when he was hitting everything.
